I need her, just look at the way she's taunting me with that seductive smirk. If I could, I'd ravage that arrogant grin off her face until her eyes roll back in ecstasy. "You lost another case to me, John. That's twice now, not looking good for you," she teases, her voice dripping with confidence. I force a tight-lipped smile, mentally screaming 'screw you.' This alluring, high-and-mighty vixen is Jane Rodriguez, a top lawyer from our rival firm, and she's become the bane of my existence with her courtroom victories over me. I swore I'd retire before she got the better of me a third time.

"If memory serves, you boasted about being the best in your firm," she continues, pushing my buttons. Screw you again... or maybe screw me. Damn, I need to focus. I shake off the distracting thoughts. "As much as I'd love to entertain you, I have work to do. I'm sure you have flying monkeys to torment," I quip back. She rolls her eyes, calling me childish, which, to be fair, I am around her. She saunters off, leaving me to ogle her perfect curves in that enticing blue pencil skirt.

"Stop staring at my butt, perv," she tosses over her shoulder without missing a beat. "You'd need to have one for me to stare at, sweetheart," I fire back, the tension between us palpable. As she steps into the office elevator and the doors close, she flips me off, a mischievous grin playing on her lips. "HR wouldn't approve of that gesture," I interject before the doors shut completely.

My colleague John sidles up to me, coffee in hand, and remarks, "You sure you two aren't exes? You argue like you used to fu-" I cut him off sharply, reminding him of our office language policy. John retreats, sipping his coffee nervously. I shake my head, retreating into my office and closing the door behind me. Collapsing into my chair, I massage my temples in frustration. She infuriates me with her attitude, yet I can't deny how damn attractive she is. It's like having a sinful craving for the devil herself, utterly maddening.I sigh heavily, diving back into the stack of files on my desk. There's too much work to be done to waste any more time obsessing over her allure.

I can't stand that arrogant prick, and I can't even pinpoint why. Maybe it's his face, so stupidly handsome yet infuriatingly smug. He's got one of those faces that's just... stupidly perfect. I need to calm down; he always manages to get under my skin. Stepping out of their firm, I stride into the parking lot, the click of my keys echoing as my Impala responds with a beep. Settling into my car, I let the engine purr to life, trying to clear my mind.

But damn it, Allen Johnson invades my thoughts again. That annoyingly smug face of his, those deep brown eyes that seem to mock me, his clean-cut stubble accentuating that strong jawline. "Oh, hell no," I mutter to myself. The last thing I need is him on my mind. Shifting my gaze to the windshield, I press the gas pedal, only to realize too late that I hadn't put the car in reverse. The car lurches forward, tapping the bumper of the vehicle in front of me. Shit, I messed up.

Legally, as a lawyer, leaving the scene of a collision is unacceptable. But as a regular person... it's just a minor bump. Quickly reversing, I pull out of the parking spot and leave the lot for my office, trying to push thoughts of Allen and the little mishap out of my mind.

I sling my briefcase over my shoulder and stride out into the parking lot, but my annoyance peaks instantly when I spot a massive dent in my car's bumper. "What the fu- Who the fu- Why the fuck?" I mutter angrily, rushing over to inspect the damage. Luckily, it's not too severe, probably an easy fix. Thank goodness for my car's front and back cameras; whoever did this is in for a rude awakening.

Unlocking my car, I slide into the driver's seat and access the camera settings, pulling up the footage from a few hours ago. Fast-forwarding through the recording, I finally pinpoint the moment, exclaiming, "Found it!" as I zoom in on the windshield of the culprit's car. "Jane?" I gasp incredulously. She wouldn't dare... but there she is, speeding out of the parking lot. I chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. Out of all the cars here, she had to hit mine. This is going to be interesting.

Shifting into reverse, I start driving towards her firm, a mischievous glint in my eyes.
