For some reason, he thought of something, lowered his head, and opened the medicine packet the mole spirit had given him, only to find a pile of pink powder inside, colorless and tasteless, with nothing discernible.

It definitely wasn't something good.

Sang Feiwan scoffed and directly threw the medicine packet into the fire. Watching the flames consume the remnants, he prepared to return to the carriage. However, as he turned around, he suddenly noticed a dark figure standing silently in the shadows, and his footsteps involuntarily paused-

Tian Gang?

The opponent stood in the shadows, sword in hand, staring expressionlessly at Sang Feiwan. He didn't know how much he had seen earlier. The nearby shadows perfectly concealed him, and neither Sang Feiwan nor the mole spirit had noticed him.

Seeing that Sang Feiwan had discovered him, Tian Gang slowly emerged from the shadows, his eyes filled with a cold indifference that was accustomed to killing. He quietly gripped the hilt of his sword, seemingly ready to take Sang Feiwan's life at any moment, and coldly asked, "Sang Feiwan, what is your intention for lurking by the city lord's side?!"

Sang Feiwan's heart skipped a beat. He thought it was all because of the mischievous mole spirit. Of all times to appear, it had to be now, and he was caught by Tian Gang, a member of the Twelve Guards, whose words held weight in front of Baili Duyue. What if...

Realizing this, Sang Feiwan quickly dismissed the horrifying thought from his mind. He calmly looked at Tian Gang, straightened his robe, and feigned composure, "I don't understand what you're saying."

Sang Feiwan intended to play dumb, though it was a bit shameless. But with no witnesses and no evidence, Tian Gang was powerless against him.

"Pretending to be ignorant!"

As soon as he said this, Tian Gang's long sword suddenly unsheathed, emitting a chilling aura. A rich green light flashed, revealing him as a powerful expert in the Second Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm.

Before Sang Feiwan could react, he saw the sword floating in the air, its blade pointing directly at him. He hesitated for a moment, then retreated subtly while smiling and persuading, "Leader Tian Gang, do you really want to kill me here? Let me remind you, if the city lord wakes up and finds out, you'll be in big trouble."

He was telling the truth. If Baili Duyue woke up and discovered something had happened to him, Tian Gang would definitely be held accountable.

Tian Gang stared at him expressionlessly, silent.

The sword remained floating in mid-air, neither striking nor retracting.

Seeing this, Sang Feiwan understood that Tian Gang was undoubtedly finding it hard to make a decision. After all, without witnesses or evidence, if it was taken to Baili Duyue, Tian Gang would be the one at a disadvantage.

"If the leader doesn't make a move, I'll go back to the carriage."

Sang Feiwan chuckled lightly and turned around, stepping onto the carriage. He pulled back the curtain and slipped inside, looking extremely resentful. Tian Gang coldly watched his back, reluctantly retracting his sword, planning to catch Sang Feiwan red-handed next time.

Inside the carriage, Baili Duyue had just woken up from a daze. He groggily opened his eyes and, before he could figure out what had happened, felt a sudden weight in his arms. Looking down, he saw that Sang Feiwan had suddenly hugged him.

Baili Duyue subconsciously asked, "What's wrong?"

He thought Sang Feiwan had been bullied by someone.
