Aegon Targaryen had regrets in his life, he especially had them near the end of his reign, when he had lost both his brothers, his sister, both of his nephews through Aemond and Helaena, and his mother would not be far behind. He had killed family, he had killed his own cousin, Rhaenys, and he had ordered the death of Rhaenyra, his half-sister. The fear put into him by his own grandsire had caused him to start the war that was the beginning of the end of his family, and now, he had to look Rhaenya and Daenerys into their eyes, as he had been the cause of the destruction.
When he landed Sunfyre back in Meereen, Rhaenya, with Viserion beside her, waited for him. "You do not seem surprised" Aegon said when he saw her. "Cunning men cannot escape dragons" she said, in the same way Helaena would speak. "I have dreamt of them, Aegon, they will ruin us" she said as she looked to him, taking his hand in hers as he looked to her. "I would not trust them with an inch of my hand" she said as she looked to him.
"Yet, you and I both know we need them. We do not know this Westeros, I have not been home since I was a girl, and you have not been home for nearly 200 years" she said as she looked to Aegon. "Then we pretend, we pretend to trust them, while also taking them down" Aegon said, kissing the side of her head before they went to find Daenerys, watching Viserion and Sunfyre fly off together, as they always did. Rhaenya and Aegon joined Daenerys, as they looked to the people gathered at the table.
"Sister" Daenerys said as she saw Aegon had returned to them as well. "What have you found?" Rhaenya asked as she looked to Daenerys. "The Sons of the Harpy, Daario and Grey Worm have found one of them." Daenerys explained and Aegon nodded, looking at the mask that laid on the table, he had seen it before, but he could not figure out where he had seen it. "The Sons of the Harpy want my people and I to wear the collars again, you must stop them Your Grace" one said as Rhaenya looked at Daenerys, to see what she thought about it. "It would send a message" Daenerys said as she looked to her sister to confirm. "I think you should exercise restraint, Your Grace" ser Barristan said as he looked to Daenerys. "Why?" she asked. "For one thing, he may have valuable information" Selmy said as he looked to the Queens. "The Son of the Harpy has no more valuable information" Daario replied to Selmy.
"How do you know?" Rhaenya asked as she looked to him. "Because I questioned him" Daario said as he looked to Rhaenya. "and the information you did get; he's young and he's poor" Hizdahr said as he looked to Daario. "And he's free" Mossador said as he looked to Hizdahr. "Why should he want to bring back slavery? What did it do for him?" Hizdahr asked as he looked to Mossador, one of the Unsullied who had reclaimed his name. "Perhaps the only thing that gave him pride was knowing that there was someone lower than he was" Daenerys said as she looked to her council; her sister and Aegon, Missandei, Selmy, Daario, Hizdahr and Mossador.
