I released my arms from around Sadie's neck and playfully jerked her shoulders, followed by an emotional chuckle before I waved at her for the final time, and ran to the security checking department with the boarding pass on one hand, and the suitcase handle gripped by the other.
I waved a 'wait' at the guards before they closed the passenger entry.
This was my third time getting late for the flight.
Blame my sleep schedule for that. And Sadie. For not waking me up.
I had officially turned into a night owl since the day I turned eighteen. So people basically see me sleep throughout the entire morning, and with respect to my absurd habit, they send me Good Morning texts after 1 at noon.
And my mom hates it.
According to her, you are somehow, ridiculously a 'good person' if you study at morning instead of at night.
My mom has always been the centre of attention in her family with her gracious appreciable etiquettes, and extremely humble manners, but I felt like she was just an attention seeker with occasional mental issues.
Or who would want a daughter with an aim to become a scientist to go for supermodelling?
But I never really paid much attention the negative shits that happened to me in life.
Because of that one Taylor Swift song that had my life turned when I was suffering in middle school.
I was amazed by how she shrugged everything with just a Haters's gonna hate, so, just Shake it off.
I love that song.
And since then, I've been shaking off every bummer in my life, which later causes me trouble of course.
And those shakings are the reason I'm on my way to fulfill the biggest dream of my life.
New York.
Where every dream comes true.
Sadie has always been the biggest cheerleader about my plan of moving to New York with hope for a better life.
But while idiotically running towards the guards with the tightly gripped boarding pass on my hand, I accidentally bumped into a tall figure and dropped everything I had on the floor, including myself.
My butt hit the hard floor with a thud, almost exposing myself with the mini leather skirt I was wearing.
Boy, this monster's chest was equivalent to a damn rock.
All I could see was an annoyed brat with soft blond hair falling on the sides of his forehead and scrunched eyebrows, searching for his belongings that got mixed with mine. I was mesmerized by the perfect veiny arms that went on collecting what were theirs, and almost instantly fell in love with the ocean blue eyes that met mine for a fraction of a second.
I acted a little distressed so he would at least give me a hand or something to help me get up, but God forbid, that asshole didn't even ask if I was okay.
I gasped at how he ignored me like I was invisible or something.
Step one of being an independent woman.
I tried to get up as well, with dedication towards the first step of my independent woman, but stepped on my own foot and was dropped back to the ground yet again.
I frowned at how one of the guards almost let out a giggle, annoying me to the core.
I got up, properly, this time and elegantly picked up my things and walked towards the security like I was another cold Kendall Jenner.
The guards tried their best not to let out another laugh while checking my pass, which made me feel like a literal clown.
I finally let out a sigh in relief as I walked across the entrance of the plane, and the cute brat was nowhere to be seen.
Emphasize the brat and not the cute. Thank you.
I sat on the seat that had 18E written on it, and as the it took off, I dropped my head to the head rest, hoping to get some sleep on the 4am flight.
