- Third Person POV -

OBSERVATION DECK

0.5 KM AWAY

The sign read...

"Awesome!" Chan exclaimed reading the words and not understanding them.

"Woah, We've only had one reading lesson and you've already got it down?" Seungcheol asked feeling proud.

"No. What does it say, Papa?" Chan asked with a curious expression.

"Hahaha! It says we're only half a kilometer away from the top." Seungcheol laughed.

"How far is that?"

"Around 10 minutes? Probably even less."

"We're almost there?!" Chan was excited.

"We sure are!" Seungcheol stood up.

"Waah! Let's go! Hurry! Hurry!" Chan jumped and pulled Minghao's arms running the fastest he could.

"Ah, my knees." Minghao whined.

"Careful!" Jisoo warned.

Seungcheol smiled until his phone rang in his pocket.

Ring! Ring!

Seungcheol picked up the call and silent dread enveloped him.

"Hello? Mrs. Lui?" What's the matter?" Seungcheol asked and seconds later he was shocked. "What?! Is he unconscious right now?"

He listened to her and Minghao and Jisoo stopped in their tracks to listen to Seungcheol.

"Okay, that's a relief. How is he?" Seungcheol gulped. "Alright, keep him lying down for a bit. Tell the nurse to not leave his side until I get there. I'll be on my way."

Seungcheol kept the call.

"Papa!" Chan exclaimed waving to him. "You're falling behind!"

Seungcheol gulped he had no choice but to do this. He walked over to Chan and bent down to his height holding his shoulders as he looked right into his eyes.

"Chan, you remember Grandpa Lui, right?" Seungcheol asked with a sad smile.

"Yes..." Chan hesitated he could feel there was something wrong just from the tone Seungcheol talked in.

"You see, Grandpa isn't feeling well right now so I..."

"Papa has to go to Grandpa? Because Papa is a doctor?" Chan gulped with sad eyes understanding Seungcheol's situation but... He was going to be left alone...

Again...

"Yes. Exactly, Chan... I have to help people who are sick. You know that right? I'm so sorry I know how excited you were for this."

"It's okay..." Chan looked at the ground. "I really like Grandpa! I want him to feel better!"

"Yeah. I'll try to come back as soon as possible so we can go treasure hunting, okay?" Seungcheol hugged Chan. "You can go with Ming and Jisoo while I quickly check on Grandpa."

"Yeah..." Chan closed his eyes as Seungcheol let go of him walking to talk to Minghao and Jisoo.

"Cheol, what happened to Mr. Lui?" Minghao asked.

"Is he okay?" Jisoo asked.

"He fainted earlier. He's unconscious now but he keeps insisting the fainting spell is nothing to be worried about. The problem is that he had a heart condition so it might be a cause for concern." Seungcheol got ready to leave.

"Oh no..." Jisoo understood.

"Yeah, I'll need to make sure it's nothing serious." Seungcheol scratched his head.

"Don't worry about Chan. We'll watch him while you're gone." Jisoo promised.

"Yeah. We can even go treasure hunting with him if he wants." Minghao smiled.

"Thanks, guys. I'll come back as soon as I can. I'm just a call away if you need me." Seungcheol smiled back.

"Yes, keep us updated too!" Jisoo exclaimed.

"I will thanks again!"

Seungcheol's eyes trailed down to Chan who was sulking.

"Chan..." He called him making him look up. "I love you son."

"I love you too, Papa!" Chan exclaimed with a sad smile. "Bye! Bye!"

Seungcheol let out a shaky breath knowing how Chan felt...

The birds chirped and the trees swayed in the peaceful forest.

"Argh!" Seokmin stretched his arms after a long hour of painting. "How many more of these do we have to paint? I'm a good citizen officer! Why do I have to go through this?"

"That's actually the last one." Wonwoo chuckled.

"Seriously?" Seokmin stood up keeping the brush away.

"Yeah, the observation deck is just around 10 minutes away. You might even see it from here. I brought some drinks and snacks we can share when we get there."

"Ming and I prepared some food too. We can have a little picnic!" Junhui exclaimed.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's pack up!" Seokmin laughed wrapping things up. "I can finally spend some time with Jisoo!"

Jeonghan stood still looking up at the sky through the trees. He had a bad feeling as though something was about to happen. Something was about to come...

"Hm?" Seokmin walked up to Jeonghan. "Han..."

"Oh, Min..." Jeonghan ripped his eyes away from the sky to look at Seokmin.

"You, okay?" You were spacing out." Seokmin tilted his head.

"Yeah... It's just that the win is picking up. I'm a little worried that it might rain. Cheol even made me leave my rain boots and umbrellas." Jeonghan looked back up at the sky worriedly.

"Well, it's been raining a lot lately but usually just in the early evening. We'd probably be home by then." Seokmin assured. "That's why we have to pick the pace. Come on!"

Jeonghan smiled at him and then looked back up at the sky seeing the clouds gather and the trees rustle with heavy blows of wind.
