chapter six; so it goes...

Start from the beginning

"Why are you being so loud?" Walker groaned, still lying in my bed, oblivious to the situation. he held a pillow over his face, unaware of the fact that Charlie was sitting beside him.

"Good morning, buddy." Charlie stifled a laugh as  he patted the boy on the back. Walker sat up suddenly, looked at the boy, and turned red.

Just as he opened his mouth to defend himself, Aryan burst through the door, which was somehow unlocked.

"What are you guys doing? We have an interview in like, an hour!" He announced, before he caught sight of Walker in my bed. "Oh... hello. Why are you... never mind. Maya. I suggest you start getting ready because you're going to need all the time you can get." I nodded slowly, trying to rid myself of the anger that Dior had caused me. I walked back across the room towards Charlie, who sprinted out of the door the second I looked at him.

"Sorry May! Love you heaps! Bye!"

Both Walker and Aryan left my room after, leaving me in solitude to get ready. I turned on my playlist tilted "five 🏩", which was made up of my five favourite artists. Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Lana Del Rey and Reneé Rapp.

I chose a simple outfit, which consisted of a strapless pink and white lacy top and a low rise white maxi skirt, paired with my pink and green adidas spezials, while singing to decode by sabrina carpenter. I had just sat down to start my makeup when I received a facetime call.

incoming facetime call from 'sunny bunny 💝'...

I propped up my phone against the vanity mirror and answered the call.

"Hey Sunster." I greeted the girl, prepared to be hounded with questions.

"Don't 'hey Sunster' me, missy. Give me all the details! I saw Dior's story! You and Walker seemed pretty cozy, hey?" Sunny inquired. She seemed to be lying in her bed.

I sighed, massaging skin tint into my face before replying. "He stayed over last night. We talked. We fell asleep. We woke up to cameras in our faces. What more do you want?"

"Uh, I don't know... like everything? What did you talk about? Why did he come over? Was he nice to you? Did you guys flirt? Did you have a moment?" Sunny demanded answers from me, and I only gasped. "What?!"

"Sorry, So it goes is playing. Um... let me see. We got home from dinner last night, and we went back to our rooms, and about ten minutes later I got a message asking if he could come over. And we just... talked. About a lot of things. I even talked to him about Marina." I admitted to her. Apart from Walker, Sunny was the only person I openly spoke to about my sister.

Marina was close friends with her older sister, Sadie, before she died. Our families spent a lot of time together, so it took a toll on all of us when she passed. But unlike Walker, Sunny knew the entire story of what happened. She knew how she died, she knew why. She also knew why I hated my dad, which was a secret that hadn't left the walls of the Sandlers and the Fontaines.

"Wow, May. Thats big. And fast. I mean, you've know Momona for years and all she knows about Marina is her name." Sunny's entire demeanour shifted at the mention of my sister. The girl knew more about me than anyone, but she was also insanely protective of me. The idea of me getting hurt, to her, was the worst thing in the world. I felt the same about her.

"I know. I can't help but thinking it was too fast. But Sunny... there's something different about him. She's just so sweet." I gushed, dabbing blush on my cheeks.
