I stood up and tried not to look nervous as I brushed the sand from my shins. When I was done I peeked at Jamie from under my eyelashes and noticed he was watching me. A small smile spread across my face.
"Race you there!"
"You're on!" We sprinted down the white sand and crashed into the water. Frothy waves pulled at my hair and bite my legs. One of them knocked me over and when I resurfaced I found Jamie laughing at me. The next thing he saw was me diving away from him and I saw the confusion fly across his face just before the wave came. He jumped up, from under the clear water, droplets hanging from his hair and streaming down his face. I was still giggling so I guess I made an easy target for him to pounce on. Jamie pushed my face under the water then leaped back so I couldn't grab him. I went for a dirty move and pretended to be dead. I knew he wasn't one of those guys who tried to save a damsel in distress just for attention but I knew he would worry. After all, it would be his fault if I drowned. I was just about running out of breath when Jamie's hands tore at me and he pulled me up from under the water. I saw panic and terror in his eyes but it soon vanished when I stuck my tongue out at him.
I smirked. "That'll teach you for trying to drown me!"
"That was very mean!" Jamie scolded. "I didn't try to drown you!"
"Yes you did!"
"No!"
"Yeah you did."
"No I didn't Brooke!" He pretended to look hurt.
"Don't play that game with me! I know you did!"
"Broooooooke! I didn't!"
"Please!"
"I did not try to drown you."
"Yes you did liar."
"No I didn't!"
"Yes."
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
I could tell this was going to go on for a while so to shut him up, I kissed him. We stood there with the water lapping our waists just indulging in the moment. I felt his hands creep to my hips when I reached up to entwine my fingers through his hair. Another minute passed as we gently kissed. Breathless I had to break the connection. As I moved away, I was pleased to notice that Jamie looked quite shocked as he ran his fingers over his lips. I felt a little proud for being the first to make a move.
"Wow." He stared at me then grinned from ear to ear. I gave him a smile.
"Lets do that again!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
Here we go again.
