show her off like she's a new trophy!

SAMIRA DIDN'T WANT to go to school, especially when he was going to be there. After her brother's multiple attempts to wake her up, she finally gave in, taking a shower.  Wearing a green t - shirt, oversized white flower embroidered overalls, and white sneakers, she put her curls into a half up - half down hairstyle.  "Dad, I'm ready!"

After her dad dropped her and her brother off, the two siblings noticed Paige, Brady, and Kia in front of the school.  "Hey, guys!" Samira exclaimed, running up to them.  "Sam!" Kia and Paige stated, hugging her. "This is going to be our year. I can feel it." Paige stated as she linked arms with Samira and Kia.  The blonde's smile slowly dropped, "Don't look."

"Don't look at what?"

"I don't want you to feel sad."

"Paige, just tell me. I promise I won't react."

"Fine, Greg and Mary. They're right there." Samira looked, feeling a little heartbroken. Greg was walking with Mary, talking to the football team. They were laughing at something the blonde had said, making Samira want to vomit.

"He can't be serious.  He's acting like we never dated."  Paige gave her hand a tight squeeze, "You're too good for him, Sam.  It's his loss.  Plus, you can get any guy that'll be ten times better than he ever was."

"But he was the first guy I ever really liked." Kia sighed, "Paige is right. You're a gorgeous girl and anyone would be lucky to date you, okay?"

"I really needed to hear that.  What would I do without you guys?" Samira asked as she pulled them into a group hug.  "Hey, Peters."

Kia quickly pulled out of the hug, "Garcia. What a surprise for you to be here! Oh, wait. Your always here."

"Please let it be a good day today." Paige mumbled. "You can say that again." Samira stated, earning a laugh from the blonde.

SAMIRA WAS HAVING A bad day. She had to see her ex and his new girlfriend kiss in the hallway at least four times so far, she had to study for a quiz that was in two days, and she was assigned multiple assignments already. Walking through the hallway, she was trying not to stare at Greg and Mary again. Suddenly, she bumped into someone, causing their things to fly out of their hands.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry." she stated, kneeling to help.  "I wasn't doing anything on purpose, I swear. I wasn't looking where I was going." Collecting some of their stuff, they handed it back to the other person. "Thank you. Also you don't need to apologize." the person said. They stole a quick glance at her, their cheeks turning a bit pink.

"Are you on your way to a class? I can walk you around if you want."

"Wouldn't you be late to your class?"

"I have a free right now. Think of it as me apologizing for making you late." The person sighed, "Fine." They then stood up, extending a hand out and pulled Samira off of the floor.  "Thank you."

As they walked together in the hallway, Samira turned to  look at them.  "So what class do you have?"

"English."

"I love English class.  What book are you reading right now?"

"We're reading 'Romeo and Juliet' unfortunately."

"It's such a tragic story.  Shakespeare had a weird thing for making teenagers more dramatic than they actually are."

"I don't really like his writing.  It's too old timey."

"It was written in the 1500s.  Of course it's going to sound weird." Silence fell between them as they continued walking. "So... what's your name?" Samira asked. "Lee. And yours is?"

"Samira.  Nice to meet you, Lee." she answered, shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you too."  They finally got to the classroom, going inside.  "Mr. Garcia.  Would you like to tell me why you're late to class?"

"I bumped into him in the hallway.  That's why he was late."

"I suppose I'll let it slide this once.  Don't let it happen again, Lee."  As he walked to his seat, Samira waved at him, causing him to awkwardly wave back.  The curly haired girl left, leaving him in his thoughts.  She's really pretty, Lee thought to himself as he opened his assigned book.
