My parents had died when I was young. My father went first when I was seven years old, and my mother followed when I was twelve due to an illness.
All my relatives, my parent's siblings, were either demoted to commoners or they were executed for scheming against the crown.
Yuki Tsukumo, my advisor, and Kento Nanami, the head of security at my palace in Kyoto, were the two who helped raise me after their deaths. Yuki has always helped me manage my schedule, making sure I get done everything I need to before the end of the day, and she also is the one who teaches me royal etiquette. She's taken over the motherly figure in my life although I would consider her more as the fun aunt. Nanami has taken up the position of always making sure I am safe. Although he seems strict to the book, he understands that I need to experience fun, and since he's accepted this fact, he's brought it upon himself to make sure I can defend myself in case of an emergency.
The court wants me to get married because they believe that there should always be an emperor. I disagree, so I've put off marriage ever since I turned eighteen.
