The day you left

Since the day you left,
I've seen you in every step I take,
Every puff I inhale,
Every second I'm alive.
Though you're now out of my sight,
I can't unsee you.

Since the day you left,
I've been kissing the mirror.
All it reflects are my lips,
But I can feel yours,
and a scent of Martinique.

On the day you left,
I still remember how
I sobbed, and shouted
your name.

But then, I realised,
You have never left
But stayed inside my chest,
at the bottom of my heart.

And right now,
you're standing on my doorstep.
As if there's never been the day you left.
