- Harley's POV -

It was a few hours that had gone by now, rummaging through box after box. We shared the awkward silence together gratefully, and for some reason his very presence banished any awkwardness that would yet rise to the surface. He made me feel at home in my own very home.

"Found anything?" I asked him, breaking the silence.

"Nope." He was observing a dusty old antique lamp intensely. "You?"

"I haven't no." I replied curtly. I sighed.

River nearly drops the lamp clumsily, before he caught it smoothly and chuckled before he set it down back into the bottom shelf.

"So what were they like? Your family?"

"They were the most down to earth people who's ever raised me, they were wonderful. I had four younger siblings, a half sibling, and my mom and dad. What about you?" He asked.

"I'm actually the only child, my mom and dad divorced two years ago." I said, indifferently, though I did feel quite sour about it, I just no longer had it in me to resent my parents, I guess.

We shared a silence.

"Well my parents were divorced." River said.

"Were?" I wondered.

"Well were, because my dad's actually on the other side."

"He?... Oh River I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have-"

"No! No it's okay. I mean, it happens you know. Two people just realize they don't love each other enough to stay married I suppose."

"How'd you hold up?" I asked.

"I did. I guess that's all that matters. As for how, it's a long story but as it goes, you just gotta keep your head up I'd say." He replied.

"That's quite the inspiring notion. Closure's everything, but you can't rush time. I think that's indefinite." I murmured, flipping through baskets of old photos. "Can you guess who this is though?" I questioned, flipping out an old baby photo.

"Hmm.. No clue. Who is it?"

"It's me! Baby me." I said, beaming as his eyes lit up.

"How adorable is that! You've got the little baby spoon." He chuckled as I smiled.

"Oh this was such a long time ago."

River and I ended up flipping through the basket of photos of little me, each tale stitching into one. Each time he smiled, I couldn't help but feel my heart tug. I think this attraction towards him was sparking to be quite the something. But I couldn't... I honestly don't know if I could, so I kept it silent.
