Kangho ended up just doing what he normally does and went to the supply closet to study and try to figure out why Sujin hadn't even wished him a happy birthday.

When he made it out onto the field and into his spot, Samsik saw him and decided it would be a good idea to lock him in there. Even though they are now teenagers and a couple years have gone by, Samsik still bothers Kangho as much as he possibly can.

Him and Sujin are what you would consider frenemies. Since Samsik still has a crush on her he can be nice and funny when he's only around her making her think they can be friends, however the second Kangho is involved he becomes rude and loves to prank him, making Sujin believe that she could truly never be friends with someone like him.

So they are always back and forth. His relationship with Kangho is anything but friendly but sometimes to try and impress Sujin they both can be civil.

Samsik laughed and walked away after locking the door. What he didn't know however was that Sujin was also in the closet waiting to surprise Kangho.

When Kangho walked in he saw Sujin with a birthday hat on her head and a cupcake in her hands lit up with a candle. The second he turned on the lights she started singing the birthday song.

Kangho looked at her in awe; he couldn't believe that someone would do this for him, but he was glad she wasn't mad at him like he had thought. Happily he waited for her to finish singing happy birthday and he blew out the candle.

Sujin was looking at him with eyes full of love and joy as he blew out the candles and made his wish. "Happy birthday Kangho '' Sujin says as she hands him the cupcake and places a crown on his head that she had also prepared for him.

"I thought you had forgotten, '' Kangho replies while taking the cupcake and noticing that it's his favorite flavor.

"I would never, I just wanted to surprise you this year, and wait there's more" Sujin states excitedly.

"I also made you some kimbap and don't worry there are no carrots in there, '' Sujin says as she hands him the container with the homemade kimbap that she made that morning with her grandparents.

"Sujin you shouldn't have, you probably had to wake up early and do all this, I don't deserve it" Kangho says genuinely worried that he caused her trouble.

"Hey" Sujin whispers as she grabs Kangho's chin and lifts his gaze to hers.

"You are my best friend and I would do anything to make you happy, besides I had my grandparents help and I honestly don't care if it would have taken me 10 hours to make i would still do it because I care bout you and you deserve this and more." Sujin finishes her little speech.

"I love you Kangho '' she adds as they gaze into each other's eyes and she can see the tears forming in his eyes. They have told each other they love each other a couple of times now but for some reason this time it felt different.

"I love you too, Sujin" Kangho whispers back as he lets one tear drop. Sujin smiles softly at him and wipes away the tear as she holds some of her own in.

"Alright let's eat, and I want you to finish everything, even if it makes you sleepy" Sujin tells him as she moves to sit and pulls out her lunch bag with her own kimbap and cupcake.

"Yes, ma'am" Kangho salutes her and is just happy that Sujin did all of this for him. He doesn't even care that he is breaking one of his mom's rules.

So they spend lunch time talking and eating just like they normally do. Kangho makes Sujin laugh and they forget all about time until the bell signifying that lunch is over rings and they snap out of their own little world to go back to reality.
