Over the years the friendship between Kangho and Sujin only got better. Kangho kept his promise and he would tell Sujin everything he went through.

It pained Sujin deeply that he was going through all of this and she couldn't do anything about it. There were so many times Sujin would cry herself to sleep because of how useless she felt not being able to help Kangho. One day she almost told her grandparents but before she did she saw a picture of her and Kangho that she had in her room and she remembered how he looked at her when he begged her not to tell and she knew she wouldn't be able to do it.

However she did make a pact to always make him happy no matter what. Even if he were to get tired of her one day as long as he was happy she would be okay.

"Good morning" Sujin says to her grandparents as she walks into the kitchen ready for school. Today was Kangho's birthday and she is going to make him some kimbap for him to eat during lunch since his mother never let him have any.

The night before she even prepped some cupcakes and she was going to decorate them with icing this morning. "Do you need help sweetie?" her grandmother asks as she remembers her granddaughter talking about what she wants to do for that boy she's in love with but won't admit.

"Yeah do you need us to help you impress Kangho?'' Her grandfather adds with a knowing smile, raising his eyebrows in a teasing way.

"I told you guys I don't like him like that. '' Sujin pouts as she looks down because she doesn't know if she really means that.

"Whatever you say honey, but you aren't fooling anyone" her grandfather adds as he starts chopping up the strawberries Sujin was going to use for the cupcakes and her grandmother starts helping her chop up the vegetables for the kimbap.

After her and her grandparents finished the surprise meal for Kangho she gathered all her stuff and went to leave for school. She shouted a quick "Bye, Love you!" to her grandparents and ran out the door as she was now a little late.

Her grandparents just watched her with a smile,  glad that they were able to watch her grow up and have her in their lives.

There hadn't been much contact from their son besides the times he would send over Sujin's monthly allowance but because of how much it was Sujin's grandparents set up a savings account and were planning on giving it to her when she moved away to college and she had quite a bit saved up already. Although their son was never in his daughter's life he at least provided for her enough to live comfortably for a long time.

Once Sujin had made it to school she met up with Mijoo and told her about her plan for lunch; She was going to hide in the supplies closet waiting for Kangho since he always goes there to study in peace and surprise him.

Mijoo couldn't be more excited, she's also known about Sujin and Kangho's crushes on each other and apart from Sujin's grandparents was their biggest fan. Later that day before they went on their lunch break Sujin got permission from her teacher to leave 5 minutes early. There was no doubt that she was the teachers favorite with her perfect grades, charming personality and lets not forget all the donations her dad made. So she could pretty much get permission to do whatever she wanted.

Kangho looked a bit confused as to why Sujin was leaving early since today was their day to spend together at lunch, especially because it was his birthday but she was acting weird. She had barely spoken to him and when she did she didn't even mention his birthday.

All she did was say hello and move on to talking to Mijoo. He started to wonder if he had done something wrong but nothing came to his mind, as far as he was concerned when they hung out the previous night everything was okay.
