10. We Just Know...But We're Close

Start from the beginning

Looking at the way Krist smiled every time Podd said something, Gawin suddenly wanted to know more, wanted to delve deeper in his mysterious world, at least he wouldn't be as clueless as a nerd listening to his classmates discussing about the big world out there.

While he was a bit annoyed, Krist abruptly clinked their glasses. Gawin just now noticed that he was holding his glass of wine aimlessly. Maybe Krist thought the taller guy wanted to give a toast, but they were so into having a conversation so they didn't notice that. Krist smiled at Gawin as soon as the other looked at him, that smile was truly beautiful even when Krist's cheeks full of marshmallow cake, making it puffy and soft.

Gawin smiled back at him, the wine coming in at his mouth became sweet, somehow.

...

They all left when it was almost nine o'clock.

Krist looked around, from the shoe cabinet to the door, but didn't see his skateboard. He was about to asked Gawin but then the owner walked out holding the coloful skateboard in his arm.

"You put it near the sofa, Krist."

"Oh, so it is Krist's? I thought it was Gawin's new skateboard." Podd leaned against the door after wearing his shoes.

"You play skateboard too?" Krist got excited when Gawin nodded at him. Podd opened the longest drawer of the shoe cabinet to reveal the skateboard of his friend, a dark blue one.

"Do you play it P'Podd?" Krist imagined the colors of Podd's skateboard.

The other responded with a shake, "One time Gawin took me to practice and watched me crash straight into the bushes outside the library, I decided to stop playing since that day. But Gawin is quite good at this, you can invite him to skate all the way to Icon Siam." Podd's eyes delved deep into his dentist friend's face and once again, Gawin was unaware of that because he was busy observing Krist's eager expression.

Walking to the gate outside, Podd and Gawin sent off Krist and Aou.

Podd stood in a daze, immersing in dozens of undefined thoughts. Gawin put his hands in his pockets, no hurry to care about the guy right next to him. His eyes was following Krist. Until the small figure disappeared into the night, Gawin turned to his friend who giving him a suspicious look at the moment.

Gawin raised one of his eyebrows. Podd understood that he wanted to ask him, 'Why you have not left yet?" That look was completely different from when Krist was here. Podd can read him well. Even though Gawin is still Gawin, from his personality to gestures, but he felt something strange about this friend of his today. Podd couldn't put it into words as he was vaguely confused. He needed an answer for that ambiguity, he wanted to ask Gawin a little about Krist, but didn't know where he should start.

He knew surely that the look in Gawin's eyes was different today, but he had no idea what was different about it.

He guessed that maybe his friend didn't know either.

"Still want to drink?"

Gawin leaned slightly, leaving a way for his friend to enter the house. Podd glanced at the watch on his wrist and shook his head. He walked toward his car and suddenly turned around, his hand was already on the door handle. Fortunately, Gawin hadn't gone back inside yet.

"Do you really want to go to Joss's house?"

"Yup!"

'Why not? Krist invites me to come.'

"You're not interested in tattoos, are you?"

"Not yet, but perhaps I'll like it."

'I will try.'
