six (pt. two). surfs up

As the car moved, Jackie couldn't help but think.  It was Lucy's birthday and she couldn't believe the girl was gone.  I mean, she would be much older than her sister in a few years.  She couldn't just pretend that she was fine.

Brady couldn't help but glance over at Jackie.  She was very quiet and deep in thought. But about what?

"Are you okay, Jackie?"

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm fine."

Brady's car eventually pulled up in front of the beach.  Jackie noticed the scenery and couldn't help but be in awe. The way the sun shined on the water as people were being taught how to surf.  "It's quite beautiful, isn't it?"

"Yeah.  It is."

Unlocking the car, Brady opened the side door for Jackie.  Grabbing his backpack, he locked the car.  The two of them walked on the beach as he guided her to the changing rooms. Jackie went into the girls changing room while Brady went into the boys.

A few minutes passed and Jackie waited for Brady to come out of the changing room. "Hey, Jackie." a voice stated. Turning around, she was relieved that it was Brady. She noticed that the boy was wearing a pair of swim trunks and a white swim shirt. "You're gonna enjoy surfing. Trust me."

"I know that I'm going to fall."

"That's why I'm going to teach you. Hopefully you'll be able to paddle out in no time."

ISSAC took a few pictures of Kia skating, asking her which ones he should send to Katherine. Kia's class eventually ended which made her relieved.  As she took off her skates, she questioned Issac where they should take pictures together.  "I think we can take some here."

"Okay."

Lacing up the shoelaces of her sneakers, she clung onto her bag as she followed Issac next to the rink.  After taking a few pictures, they both agreed on which ones to send.

"So are you doing anything else now?" Issac asked her as he stuffed his phone in his pocket.

"No. Why?" Kia asked as she walked out of the rink, Issac catching up to her.

"Just curious."

"You think I don't have anything interesting in my life, Garcia?" Kia asked as she opened her locker and grabbed her jacket.

"What? No, no! I was just -"

"Relax, Garcia.  I was only kidding."

"Oh. Well, I'm kind of hungry and I really want pizza.  Do you want to go to Monty's with me?"

"Are you asking me out, Garcia?" Kia closed her locker as she and Issac continued walking down the hallway.  "No! I was just trying to be nice."
