Chapter 23: The Three Heads of the Dragon

Start from the beginning

"Morgana, nephew... My sister, Princess Daenerys of House Targaryen. Daeny I'd like you to meet the dragon witch, Lady Morgana Slytherin, and our secret nephew and future king, Aegon Targaryen." Viserys' smile looked strained, having too much information all at once.

Daenerys too looked utterly shocked at the guests.

"You gave us a home," Daenerys stated, looking directly at Morgana.

"Soon, I will give you a kingdom... We have much to discuss. I must tell you all so much. There is so much to do and not nearly enough time... The end of the world is coming... you three are the keys to stopping it." Morgana said looking between the three dragons.

"What do you mean?" Viserys asked.

So she told them.

She told them of how she appeared in this world, of Aegon's dream, of every king she met and loved all leading up to this, of Lyanna's part in the Song of Ice and Fire. She told them everything, sitting on the green grass of the garden surrounded by flowers and fountains.

Then she told them of what was to come, she warned them of the long night, of the night king, of the reason Aegon conquered the seven kingdoms in the first place. Not out of greed or to show the might of Valyria, but to unite as one against a threat that brewed.

The house of the dragon had forgotten their noble quest with each new generation.

Morgana was the only one who would remember.

Weeks passed and the three dragons grew much closer.

Daeny had been teaching Aegon to speak in their mother tongue of High Valyrian. Aegon had begun training Viserys and Daenerys to fight with swords. Viserys had been hesitant at first to let Daeny fight, but Morgana reminded him of how much safer she'd be when the long night came.

Viserys had become quite the business-savvy man since Morgana had last seen him. He had taken the gifts and multiplied them a hundredfold making him one of the richest self-made men in Essos.

Aegon had little mind for politics or business, but Viserys did.

Daenerys was amazing at politics, she knew how to phrase things perfectly to get her point across, and she was clever and brilliant when it came to dealing with people. People always underestimated her due to her youth and lovely face, none remembered the true power of a dragon.

Aegon was the strength, just like his namesake before him. He was a warrior, a leader.

The three heads of the dragon, the conquerors reborn.

A sickening sense of deja vu hit Morgana as she sat at a picnic with the Targaryens. Daenerys smiled like Rhaenys, Viserys smirked and laughed like Visenya, and Aegon's eyes lit up with the same twinkle of amusement as the conqueror himself.

That first love burned in her soul as they interacted with her.

The bonds burned brightly as a dragon's flame.

A maid approached the royals, curtsying in greeting and waiting to be acknowledged. Aegon nodded for her to speak and she motioned for the guard to come forward. In his hand was a large crate, heavy by the looks of it.

"A gift, your majesty, from a secret admirer." The maid stated.

"Oh? And who is this admirer? Does our lovely Daeny have a suiter?" Viserys teased, earning a slap on the arm from his sister.

"The note says, 'Fire and Blood, signed the King Maker'" The maid answered, silencing the giggling royals as she gave them the note.

"You may go," Aegon stated, taking the crate from the guard and placing it in between the four of them. The maid and guard bowed once more and scampered away.

"A gift from you, Gana?" Aegon asked.

"It seems so... My, my, will I be busy in the future," Morgana stated, looking at the crate. The same lock hung without a keyhole. "Alohamora."

The lock dropped and Viserys opened the box to find three stone dragon eggs.

"...Trinkets... thanks future Morgana," Viserys said sarcastically lifting the cold stone into his hands.

"Is it code for something? Three dragon eggs, three heads to the dragon, something like that. We already know that though, we have present Morgana to keep reminding us." Daenerys said, lifting hers into her hands.

Aegon too lifted the final out of the crate, examining them.

"Eggs...Dragons... Dragon Eggs...... Fire and Blood.... FIRE AND BLOOD!" Morgana stood to her feet putting the pieces together.

She grabbed the steel bowl of fruits dumping them onto the ground before taking the dragon eggs from their hands.

She pulled out her wand, the one she hadn't needed to use in such a long time, and cast "Fiendfyre!" A fire so hot that it started melting the bowl roared to life.

"Morgana! What the fuck are you doing?!?" Aegon jumped back, pulling his aunt and uncle with him.

"Give me your hands! Trust me!" Morgana said waiting for them to accept.

Surprisingly, Daenerys was the first to step forward, offering her hand to Morgana. Morgana lifted one of the steak knives to Daenerys' hand, ignoring the princess' gasp of pain as she cut across her palm. Leading Daeny to the flame, she told her to reach in and place a hand on the egg that calls to her.

The boys followed behind, allowing Morgana to cut their hands.

They all hesitated, looking into the roaring flames. "Together," Aegon announced looking to Viserys and Daenerys who nodded in agreement.

"One." Aegon began.

"Two." Viserys continued.

"Three!" Daenerys finished and they all shoved their hands onto an egg, but unexpectedly, they did not burn.

The blood from their hands dripped down the scales of the dragon eggs evaporating in the heat of the flames.

Then with fire and blood, the shells cracked open beneath their fingers.

The sky turned blood red as a dragon-shaped comet sliced through the world. Three small firebreathing beasts emerged from their shells clinging to their bonded, with whom they shared life-blood.

"Dragons." Viserys stared in awe.

They all sat frozen as their house symbol climber up their arms. They glanced up towards the dragon witch, whose magical fire had gone out... only she too was gone.
