I started to open my mouth, and closed it like a fucking fish. Well, shit. I didn't exactly know what to do or say right now. I haven't been in a situation like this in so long.

"You know I can't tell you that" I said in a hushed tone. And as soon as the last words left my mouth, relief washed over River as he started to grin.

"So you like me too?" he asked, making me glare at him. God, I hate confrontations so much.

"Right, I'm leaving" I tell him, but he again grabs my arm and stops me.

"So we're good?" he asks me. I look up at him and his cute pouty face, which should be enough to make me fold, but I was still pissed about the fact that he kissed someone else.

Not that I had a say on that anyways. He can do whatever the fuck he wants.

"I guess" I told him. He then stood up straight, placed his hands on his back and pouted his lips before leaning down to me.

"Good enough to start hanging out again?" River asked, and that was enough for me to fold that I actually let out a laugh and rolled my eyes.

"We'll see" I told him before before turning my heel so I could walk away, but before I could, I hear a familiar set of voice arguing on the other side of the wall. I mean, I'm not a nosey person, but it was the fact that the voices sounded so familiar I accidentally grabbed River's hand and slowly started walking closer and closer to the other side of the wall.

And man OH MAN! I did not expect to see this sight in front of me!

"OH MY GOD IT'S HAPPENING!!" I screamed before Caleb quickly pulled out of the kiss with Hailey, and they both looked like deer caught in headlights.

Caleb quickly looked at Hailey then at me, then back at Hailey again then started to fake disgust.

"Oh fuck! I thought you were someone else!" he said before signaling Hailey to just go with it. Oh my god, they are both so fucking obvious they couldn't even act cool. I swear to god, if I wasn't so smart, I would've thought that they are both sleeping together instead of eavesdropping on my convo with River, which I wouldn't be opposed to of course.

And like the great actress my best friend is (she's not), she quickly caught up on Caleb's not-so-subtle hints and talked.

"Great now I have to take ten showers and brush my mouth twenty times!" Hailey said in her most disgusted voice, slightly disappointing me because that was the worst acting of all time, before she quickly turned to me and flashed me a huge smile.

Especially when she saw that River was behind me.

"Oh my god you two are.... Good again!" Hailey said before quickly hugging me

"Yeah, we're... taking it slow this time" I told her "Which is good for you, by the way"

Hailey's eyebrow scrunched up in confusion.

"What do you mean?" Hailey asked, which only made me flash her a teasing smirk.

"It means..." I began before leaning close to Hailey so I could whisper on her ear "You are now free to fuck my brother as loud as you want" I told her before winking at her as she looked at me extremely shocked and confused. I then passed a glance at Caleb and pulled River past these two idiots.

"Peace out" I tell them before walking away from there.

Once they were out of earshot, I finally took a deep breath and let go of River's hands, immediately apologizing to him.

"Sorry" I told him as we started walking slower this time

"It's all good" River asked "So um... I have a question, by the way" he added, making me stop walking as I turned to face him
