"mali, you have to get up." saffie said as she tapped the girl's back.

"why should i?" she muffled with her head still in the pillows

"because there's more to life than trent."

"it's not even about him."

"then what is it about?"

"louisa."

"don't tell me you're in love with lou now?" curtis asked as he stood by the door sounding extremely concerned.

"of course not."

"so what's the problem."

"i keep losing to her."

"since we were kids, i've been losing to her, in everything." she continued as she sat up on her bed.

"not everything, atleast you have your music career." saffie said trying to comfort the girl who still had marks of mascara on her face.

"one thing i know for sure that's better about you, is your personality."

"oh for sure, lou's the biggest bitch i know." curtis said still standing at the door

"well she's a talented, beautiful bitch." amalia sighed as she grabbed a makeup wipe from her bedside table.

"mali, you know i've said this a hundred times but you could honestly be so much better than her if you stopped pitying yourself." curtis said as he walked towards the bed where the two girls were seated.

"i tried to talk to trent but nothing changed, he loves her not me."

"have you opened instagram since we got home?" curtis asked

"what are you talking about?"

"just check your phone." saffie said handing her the phone.

"she did it again." amalia sighed as she looked at her phone.

"is trent okay?" she asked looking up at curtis

"why don't you ask him yourself?"

"i can't just call him and ask if he's okay."

"why not?"

"beacause that's weird as hell."

"how?" curtis asked still not seeing the problem

"you guys are friends." saffie said

"who fucked."

"like a month ago."

"a month isn't really that long curt."

"look just try and talk to him.'

'i already did that."

"alone."

"i don't think he'll even answer me if i called."

"i'm sure he would."

"call him right now." curtis said pointing at the phone

amalia sighed as she searched for trent's contact and clicked the call button.the phone rang three times as saffie amalia and curtis held their breath in anticipation.

"see he's not going to ans-

"hey mal"

"hey."

"are you okay, i saw the thing on instagram?"

"yeah, i knew it was going to happen eventually, i was surprised she lasted two weeks."
