Chapter Two: Prince Charming And The Beginning Plan For Revenge

As the wind blew around them Louis and Clementine walked their way to the river. leafs could be heard crunching under them breaking the awkwardness once at a time. "So...uh, what do you think we're having for dinner tonight. clemster?" Louis asked. Clementine completely caught of guard by the nickname he had gave her. "Excuse me? what?" Clementine asked. "What.." He replied nervously. "The nickname?.." Clementine asked defensively. "Oh, i thought it was cute yknow, like clementine but clemster since people call you clem." He said. "uh huh..where'd you get that from?" she replied with her arms on her hips. "i made it up! i'm so smart i know." he said while putting his hand on his chest. Clementine giggled. Louis looked over at Clem watching her smile. "God she is so pretty i wish i could just kiss her, or better yet tell her how i feel" Louis thought. Louis was afraid of telling Clementine on how he felt because he's never asked out a girl before and definitely not his dream girl right beside him. "Hey, whatca thinking about?" Clementine asked. Louis stood straight from his slouch while tugging down on his collar he said "just trying to think of how many fish we'll catch." Louis said putting on a front. "How many do you think we'll catch? i think we'll catch like 4 or 5." Clem said. "I think we'll catch every fish in the river with my sneakiness and swiftness, i'm as slick as a ninja!" louis said giggling. Clementine joined in with his laugh. She looked up at his face and started blushing. She blinked in love when she looked at him, her eyes blinking slowly with a slight smile on her face. She wanted to count every freckle on his face even if it took a billion years. Louis turned to face Clem and they made eye contact for a couple seconds. "Are you trying to challenge me to a staring contest Clemster?" louis said with a jokingly demanding face. "Uh no." Clementine said while rolling her eyes. Louis broke the eye contact looked ahead of them to see the blue river glistening as it reflected off the soon to be down sun. The smiley boy turned to Clem, "Look we're here!!" he said. Clementine nodded as she followed the boy near the river bank. Clem grabbed the bucket and sat down near Louis looking at the dark blue river. Louis took off his coat and folded it, he laid it on ground next to him just in case if it got wet from any water that came flying his way. He then sat down his weapon 'chairles' next to the folded coat. Clementine held her spear and she gripped it ready to hunt. Louis looked at the girl and laughed. "You look like a caveman Clem, ready to catch his first meal of the day." Louis said. "Shut up, you're distracting me." Clementine said as she caught a fish swimming by. "See, i'm not disturbing your center of attention that much, you already caught one." Louis replied. Clem didn't say anything else as she was too determined and didn't really hear what he said. She caught a couple more before Louis could even catch one. Louis had realized how many fish Clementine caught. "Well, look at you clemster, you've already caught so many and i haven't caught one. How do you do it 'Mrs Perfect'. I think you should be in a competition for those amazing fishing skills." he said teasing her. Right after he blurted his annoyance out. Clem had an evil idea in her head, that could possible make louis upset at her. But.. she went along with it anyway. "Okay i know how you can catch one Lou." Clem said with a smirk as she got up from crouching. Louis looked at her. "Go on? Tell me your secret to being the best-" Clem looked up and pushed him into the river before he could finish his sentence. She almost started laughing but she then realized Louis grabbed onto her foot while he was falling in. Clementine and Louis both fell into the river simultaneously. Clementine went straight under the cold river, her nose filled up with water, she popped her head right back up before she could start drowning. Louis popped his head up out of the water as soon as Clem did and he started laughing as hard as he could. "Clem!! why'd you do that? You could've killed me." he laughed. She was so out of breath she couldn't make up a sentence from the water in her lungs and the fact she was still trying to grasp what happened. "It wouldn't be so bad if you did." Clem said while coughing. Louis splashed water in her face out of hurt causing her to gasp. She started spitting the water out and looked toward Louis, she splashed more water on Louis back but he went under the split second she did. After the water fell back into the river and called down she looked and didn't see Louis. "What the hell? Where did he go?" She said confused. Suddenly she felt something under her lifting her body above the water. It was Louis, he had risen from the river and picked Clem out of the water as she squirmed. Clementine looked down and saw Louis holding her up. "Louis! put me down! I hate you!" she screamed. Louis didn't say anything but roll his eyes. Louis's grip got tighter since when he first picked her up, his hands on her legs and her stomach as she struggled in the air. Clementine stopped for a moment and realized how strong Louis actually was, she always thought he wasn't that strong because hes a slim boy with barley any muscular figure, how could he still be holding onto her even tho he's walking toward the shore. That takes a strong person to do, she couldn't even carry Aj anymore but Louis could do it perfectly. Maybe because he was a boy and she was a girl, she knew there was a difference but it still made no sense to her. "Louis put me down i'm gonna kill you! Howd you even get under me that fast? Just put me down!" Clem shouted while struggling harder. Louis turned her over on his shoulder as she complained.  Clementine kicked and was scratching his back like a cat having free time with a cardboard box. "Like i said, i'm as stealthy as a ninja." He said as he slammed her in the water back first, he saw her face and how angry she looked and got intimidated. Clementine popped right back up and ran out the water in fear he would do it again. Louis ran out of the water too and fell on his knee from the water pulling him down. He was trying to catch his breath from holding the girl up. She interrupted his moment of despair for his lost of breath. "Are you okay?". Louis looked up at Clem still on his knee and coughed getting the water out of his lungs. "I am fantastic, amazing even." he breathlessly said while getting up. They looked at each other and started cackling because they were sopping wet knowing that they might not have a change of clothes. "I can feel the water in my pants. Why'd you have to drag me under?!" She said with a grunt while rolling her eyes. "Oh i'm so sorry my dear Clementine, did the water bite you?" Louis said sarcastically while putting his hand on his chest. "Oh shut up Lou, even if it did i'm surprised you didn't bite me first 'Mr Be-Lou-Ga.' " Clem snickered. Louis laughed and looked at Clem. "So we're giving each other nicknames now huh?" He asked. "Yeah ever since you called me "Clemster" She replied rolling her eyes jokingly. "Well then Clemmie, I guess we should head back now?" Louis said with his hands on his hips while his foot tapped on the small rocks below their feet. Clementine stared at him furrowing her brows. "Yeah i think we should before Marlon comes out here and see we're messing around, i don't think he'd be happy." Clementine replied back nervously. They both started heading back and Louis grabbed his folded coat off the ground along with 'chairles'. He held his coat in his arms to prevent getting it damp on his body. As they were heading towards the school they heard walkers, their moans and groans echoed through the forest. Clementine pulled out her knife and held it close just in case a walker got near. She looked at Louis and put her lips to her mouth in a shushing motion as they walked up to the death rattling noises coming from the area. Clementine peered over one of the bushes and saw some walkers stuck in the traps that were set up by Marlon a couple weeks back. Clementine sighed in relief and she softened her grip on her knife. Clementine walked up to the upside down walker hanging from the rope and stabbed it in the head as it reached toward her. Off to the side, Louis grabbed chairles and whacked one of the walkers hanging as well, knocking the walkers eyeball out. He looked down and laughed, "Excuse me sir but i think you lost your eyeball..We'll just to make up for that one-" Louis took his chair leg and hit the walker again knocking its other eyeball out. As he finished killing the walker, Clem looked at the boy in disgust. "Are you enjoying this, Lou?" she giggled. "Make the most of it right? I mean it's not like they can feel pain." He replied back. She walked towards him as Louis looked at her. "Hey have you hit a walker using chairles yet, Clem? It's pretty fun." He asked her with his eyebrow raised. "No? You've never asked dumbass." she shrugged with her hand on her hip. "That wasn't very nice clemster.." he said tilting his head and frowned jokingly. Clementine rolled her eyes so hard you would've thought her eyes got stuck. "Anyway. You should try it, Here." He said while he put his hand out to give 'chairles' to her. Clem grabbed it from his hand and held it close to her head with her hands at the very bottom. Louis looked at Clem and walked towards her, "Ok that's definitely not how you hold it. You're gonna end up hurting yourself." He said while shaking his head as he came near the curly haired girl. Clementine rolled her eyes and sighed. Louis came behind her and put his hands on hers to adjust the placement to prevent her from hurting herself by one swing. Clem felt his hands on hers and got flustered as he moved her hand up and one down a bit. "Alright, and there. You will not possibly kill yourself now, it's just like a baseball bat. Pull back and swing!" He said while he rubbed his neck. He looked at Clementines face and realized he made her blush, even with her dark complexion you can still see her cheeks flutter in color. Louis looked away and smiled, he stood back as she swung and on her first try she killed the walker hanging by its feet. "Holy shit, good job Clem. First time holding chairles and you already killed a walker, you're a fast learner." He said in amusement. "Yeah i know.." she said with a smile. "You are amazing Clementine, wow, just wow." Louis said with a smile. "I know." she said with a smirk to show her independence. Louis looked at Clem and all of those thoughts came back, "She's so different from me and shes so strong all around, will i ever get my chance? does she even like me? I mean even as a friend, am i even important to her? Even if she doesn't think im important i'll always stay by her side and be there when she needs me. " Louis thought as he stood beside Clementine while she was cleaning off her knife from the walker she stabbed moments ago. The night grew darker and Louis realized that it's time to go home before any suspicion arises. "We should actually go back now..we've been out here for so long and it's already dark, Marlon's probably thinking we got ate by walkers or something" Louis said with a sigh. "No he's probably thinking you got ate by a walker." Clem snickered with a grin. Louis shook his head and continued on the way. They walked beside each other knowing they had spent fun and enjoyable time with each other. "Today was fun, we should do this more often. But not where you're pushing me into a body of water that i could've died in." Louis said. "We both could've died in.." Clementine chimed in with a laugh. A couple of minutes passed by and it was getting cold. Clementine held her arms together trying to keep warm. Louis looked at Clem and took his coat, he unfolded it and he wrapped it around the girl with a smile. Clementine surprised by the generous action she looked up and pulled the coat over her, she was flustered. "Better?" Louis asked. "Yeah..Thank you Lou." she said while staring at the handsome boy next to her. "My pleasure." Louis said winking at her. "His coat is so warm, no wonder he keeps this thing on everyday." she thought with her eyebrow raised. "Do you ever sweat in this thing?" Clem asked. Louis looked at her. "No i really don't, that coat is like my second skin if that sounds normal enough. It's really important to me and i'd rather not get bodily fluids on it." Louis added. "You get walker blood on it though?.." Clem said.
"Okay, well, that's not really a choice now is it?" Louis replied with a laugh. As they got closer to the school Marlon noticed Clementine and Louis walk up the path since he was on watch duty. He furrowed his brows and climbed down the ladder. He looked at Louis still damp from being pushed in the river and shook his head. "What took you guys so long, what happened back there?" Marlon asked. Louis smiled awkwardly, "It's a long story.." The boy replied. Marlon looked at Louis and realized he didn't have his coat he then looked at clem and put two and two together as he thought. "Ohh.." Marlon said. "Did you two..like have se-"Louis immediately put his hand over Marlons mouth knowing what he was going to say next he widened his eyes and shook his head no to hold himself from getting embarrassed by what was going to be said next if let said. Clementine was zoned out looking at the ground not paying attention to what was being said. Clementine looked back up and asked "What did he say?" Louis took his hand off of Marlons mouth and Marlon looked Louis up and down. "Actually just tell me everything that happened later.." Marlon said with smirk. He winked at Clementine and Louis with a thumbs up as he took the bucket of fish from Louis's hand. Louis rolled his eyes annoyed at the fact Marlon didn't take the hint. "What the hell was that. What did he say?" Clem said as she put her hands on her hips. "He started assuming stuff..Yeah so let's just forget it..okay? No need to ask anymore questions about what he said. Got it, got it." Louis said nervously while smiling. Clementine raised her eyebrows. They continued to walk towards the group of kids sitting down at the table after the weird interaction. Aj had noticed Clem and Louis and ran up to her embracing the girl in a hug. "Clem!! i missed you, i thought you said you'd be back soon," Aj looked at both of the two teenagers and asked, "Why are you two wet?" Clementine and Louis looked at each other and pointed. "Did you guys go swimming?" Aj questioned. "More like forcibly-" Louis added. Clem nudged her elbow into his side."Why didn't you tell me, i wanted to go swimming today." Aj said with a frown. "Well our intent wasn't to get in the water, it was only to fish. But clemster had other ideas. Like pushing me into the river." Louis added. Clem rolled her eyes. "Aj why don't you go see what Tenn's doing, kiddo while me and Louis head inside?" Clem asked him. Aj nodded and ran off, he sat with Tenn on one of the benches as they continued coloring. Clem and Louis walked into the school. Clementine still had Louis's coat on, she felt like if she took it off she would die then and there. it was so warm and it melted her to the still soft fabric. She understood what Louis meant by "second skin". Louis looked at clem as she put her hands in the pockets of the coat. Louis just wanted to pick her up and swing her around like a dog playing with a dog toy, he felt so much towards clem he felt like his heart was going to implode. He didn't know if he should tell her how he creeks in fear of rejection. Louis looked back up and they got closer to the main entrance, he held the door open for her. He bowed his head down like if a prince had just saved his princess from a fire breathing dragon. "Thank you for saving me three seconds of my time, prince charming." Clem said with a laugh. "Of course m'lady." he teased. They continued their way and went down the corridor, Louis wanted to make sure Clementine got to her room first as always. She grabbed the door handle but before she walked in she stopped and turned to Louis. "Hey i'm sorry about pushing you into the river Lou." Clem said looking over to the side. "Did you just apologize..Wow" Louis said with a laugh. "don't be sorry though i had fun, and i enjoyed when you pushed me in the river. Even if i died, i wouldn't mind dying by you." Louis said with a smile. Clem looked back up at him and laughed.  "Thank you Lou, but i do have one more question." clem said. Louis looked confused, "Do your worst." He replied in fear. "Do you have an extra shirt i can borrow since my clothes are wet?" Clem asked. Louis stood there and giggled, "One of my shirts, really? You couldn't have asked violet or ruby?" Louis said with a smile. "Well yeah, you're the only one here and i'm sure you won't mind it."Clem replied rolling her eyes. Louis shook his head and ran off to his room. As he did, Clem opened her door and went inside her room. She took off Louis's coat and her pants, she placed his cream colored coat on her bed while she looked at some extra purple shorts that were in the opened drawer from a girl that had them in the past. Luckily they were still clean so she slid them on without a second thought. Right after she did Louis walked in and thought she was half naked so he closed his eyes and ran out. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry, im sorry!!" Louis said embarrassed outside the door. Clem reopened the door and looked at Louis, "Lou i'm not naked i just have shorts on, you dork." She giggled. Louis slowly opened his fingers while his hands were still on his face. After he looked up and down he saw that she wasn't half naked he took his hands off his face. "Remind me next time to knock.." Louis sighed. Clem looked at him and rolled her eyes. "Anyway here's that shirt u wanted, this time i'll make sure to stay out." Louis said while he handed her the shirt. "Thanks" she said while her eyes batted at him with a smile. He got butterflies in his stomach from her just looking at him, this girl was taking over him, slowly but surely everyday. "Here's your coat back, as well." Clem said while walking to her bed. "Wow, two of my things borrowed in a day. We're on a roll." he said taking his coat back from the curly haired girl. "Well the coat technically wasn't borrowed, you put it over me when i was cold, dumbass." She said rolling her eyes walking to the door. Clem closed it and Louis was patiently waiting outside the door. His mind quickly made up an image of her getting undressed and he tried to brush it off. He didn't feel comfortable imagining Clem like that but he couldn't help it. Louis stood there blushing like a middle schooler as if they've gotten their first kiss. He turned around and put his hand over his eyes after he got the image out of his head. He was hoping him and Clem could just be together one day, he'd wait eternity just for her to tell him "i love you, Louis." He shook his head and just thought, "we're really good friends that's it.. But what about the river and how i helped her swing chairles, the way her cheeks lit up red, and the way i gave her my coat, she totally kept it on longer than needed? right? But thats nothing.  I need to stop making everything romantic between me and Clementine. She only views me as a friend I'm sure.." As he finished thinking Clem opened her door and stood in front of louis. "it's a bit longer than i wanted it to be, but it'll do." Clem said with a smile. Louis took his hands of his eyes and looked at the girl. "I'm so sorry my darling Clementine, i should've had it hand made to fit your expectations before i even thought about giving it to you." He said sarcastically while doing a fainting motion. "Do i actually look stupid?" Clem asked. "I mean you look better than 2 walkers combined if that helps, i don't think fashion really matters in an apocalypse.." He said jokingly. Clem put her hands on her hips and furrowed her brow. "Well jeez Lou, thanks for being honest." Clem said. "I'm just kidding, you look great." Louis said. He thought she looked more than great, beautiful, gorgeous even. He didn't tell her that because Louis was still in the mindset that Clem looked at him like a friend. he thought he would go too overboard by saying it, making clem uncomfortable. Clem stood there and she giggled. "Well thank you prince charming, you don't look too bad yourself." She said with a smile. Louis laughed. Before either of them could make out another word Aj ran in and told both of them that dinner was ready. They both smiled and told Aj they were on their way. They headed out the door while clem held Ajs hand, before they walked toward the table and sat down, Aj told clem that he wanted to show her the drawing him and Tenn made earlier that morning when she was looking for him. "Clem come look at what me and Tenn drew earlier!" Aj said with a smile on his face. He dragged Clem toward the bench with drawings on top of it. "What is it buddy?" Clem asked. He lifted up the drawing from the table and it showed: her, Louis and Aj holding hands together with a heart above their head. Clementine stared analyzing the drawing, "I love it Aj, it's awesome." Clem said with a smile. Louis looked over at the drawing as well and he giggled. "That's super cool little dude! You're a really good artist." Louis said. "Tenn told me to make you guys kiss, but i told him no because that's gross and i know you guys wouldn't do that" Aj chimed. Clem and Louis laughed. "Yeah of course we wouldn't kiddo, that's gross, never ever" She said.
"Yeah that's gross, who would ever think of that." Louis said while laughing. Before they could continue gawking about Ajs drawing, a voice interrupted them."Come on guys! Get over here! We can't eat without you." Marlon shouted looking at the three. They all made their way over to the table and sat down. Clementine and Louis sitting by one another, Tenn and Aj were sitting right in front of them, Marlon, Brody, mitch, and willy beside them. Aasim, and Ruby was sitting by violet as well. Omar was getting the food ready in bowls and handed them out to everyone, the kids got their food first then older kids got theirs last. As Clem and Louis ate, Marlon interrupted them once again, "So.. you wanna tell us what happened down there that took you two and a half hours to complete?.." He said while ruffling his short blonde self cut hair. Clementine rolled her eyes. "i can tell you." Louis said. "Me and Clem fought off a huge army of walkers and we killed them all, but there was a huge zombie. almost like a boss zombie, yknow like in the video games, me and clem killed it together none of the less. So that's what took us 2 hours to complete" He said smiling. Clementine hit Louis's side and giggled. "Did that actually happen? how'd you guys do it?" Aj asked. "Aj no kiddo, he was lying. What really happened is that i pushed Louis into the river as a joke and he pulled me in as well, then after that we came across walkers-" Louis over talked her by saying "See i told you guys we ran into a huge army of walkers and that we killed the boss zombie." He teased. Clem looked at louis and squinted her eyes in annoyance. Louis looked straight back down and continued eating. "Like i was saying the walkers we came across were caught in traps and we finished them off. That's all that happened." Clem said rolling her eyes. "So is that why you were wearing Lou's coat and now his shirt?" Marlon asked. Clementine stared at marlon and answered "Yes, it got cold and i wore his coat, then he lended me a shirt because my clothes were wet. You're just so smart Marlon" She said sarcastically while she raised her eyebrows. Louis rubbed the back of his neck and swallowed his food. "Hey just asking, don't get so defensive unless you've still got something to hide" He said laughing. Clem rolled her eyes again. Most of the kids have already gotten up from their seat and went to bed by the time Marlon and the two finished their conversation. Only Marlon, Clementine, Louis, Aj, Violet, and Tenn remained. Louis had finished his bowl and he was waiting on what was to be said next. The reminder of the raiders popped up in her mind, she was so focused on everything else that happened that day she didn't have time to negotiate it. "So about the Minnie and Sophie situation i think we should go out in a couple days and see if we can find out where they've been keeping Minnie and Sophie." Clem said. "Yeah i agree, they can't be far if they just showed up in less than a couple hours. I mean unless they have super fast sport cars." Marlon replied with a giggle. "We can speak about this tomorrow, but first we need rest before anything yknow, i'm gonna go ahead for a nap. I'll talk to you guys later" Marlon said trying to escape the conversation. Louis looked at Clem and smiled, "I think Im gonna go for a nap too Clemster, i'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight." He said while he winked at her. "Goodnight weirdo" Clem laughed. Aj followed Tenn and Louis as they walked into the school. Clementine looked at violet the last person outside and gave a reassuring smile to her. Clementine walked toward violet sat down. "How do you feel about the situation vi? I mean Marlon isn't really worried about it, and it pisses me off, he's so full of himself i hate it. But, are you okay though?" Clem asked with worried look. "I guess i'm just ready to get my girlfriend back, i miss her. Seeing all of you happy with your little partner is depressing to me but i never say anything because that's selfish, and yes i know i've been selfish in the beginning but i want to change. You've helped me Clem, thank you. Knowing that you care about how i feel means more than any words could say" Violet said with a smile. Clementine looked back at her "I'm glad i could help vi, I don't like seeing you sad." She said with a smile. "and we're going to get minnie and sophie back, so you wont need to feel upset anymore. okay?" Clem said. "You tell me that every time though...What if we really can't get Minnie and Sophie back, then what Clem? We can't just rush in there and grab them." Violet continued. Clementine sighed and put her hand on Violets shoulder.. "We'll need to come up with a fast plan, that can get Minnie and Sophie out but also save our asses" Clementine said. Violet looked up and Clem and agreed, "Yeah i think we'll need to find a plan that's smart and it won't get any of us killed, god i couldn't stand losing any of you. Maybe besides Louis." Violet laughed "Yeah i agree." Clem said jokingly knowing she wouldn't know what to do if he did actually die. she stood up and looked down and the blonde headed girl sitting on the ground. "I think i'm gonna go for a nap Vi, I'll see you later. Night" Clem said while walking away heading to the entrance. Clementine went directly to her room and she noticed Aj wasn't in their room again. "Aj must've went into Tenn's room for a sleepover.." Clem thought as she tried to keep her eyes open. She laid down and closed her eyes immediately drifting off.

|quick little note, i messed up a lot of stuff in this chapter and some in the last, i was super sleep deprived and i rushed through it. i will not being doing that anymore since i am the one writing it. some parts are completely different/new, but are not as rushed and they're more understanding than they were. thx 4 ur time :)|
