A/N: I thought of this while listening to Mitski
—————————————————
Leafy grabs two baskets and starts walking towards the garden. She and Firey planned on picking some flowers for bouquets, in honor of the spring season of course. Leafy loved plants, being one herself, and that made it really easy to try and learn every last thing about plants. She was really into flower language, which is what she used to make the bouquets. Each flower in each bouquet was picked specifically by her based on their meaning and their meaning paired with other flowers. This really gave leafy a place to outlet her passion, and she loved doing it with Firey.

Firey and Leafy have been friends since as long as she can remember. Best friends until the end, her ride or die. However, at one point their relationship got... rocky, to say the least. Of course they're long over it now, but sometimes Leafy can't help but feel guilty still. No matter how many times she's apologized already.

She tries not to think about that too much, it'll probably spoil her mood.

As she approached, Firey waved to her.

"Hey Leafy!" Firey exclaimed excitedly.

"Hi Firey!" Leafy replied happily, handing him a basket. "We've got a lot to do today! I'll need enough flowers to make 18 bouquets!"

Firey takes the basket and reaches out his hand to take Leafy's free hand, "Was there some occasion that I missed?"

Leafy blushes a bit, unknown to Firey, and starts walking with her hand in his. "It's BFB post split's anniversary soon! So I need to give everyone a hand crafted bouquet."

"Hm... okay. So how many flowers do we need?" Firey asked, swinging his basket slightly as he and Leafy walked the path around the flower garden.

"Well, each bouquet has to have 12 flowers, so... 18 times 12 is... 216! So we'll need to collect at least 216 flowers. We probably won't finish today, but that's okay! That's why we're starting early, so we can have more time."

"Leafy... your generosity levels never fail to astound me." Firey deadpans. Leafy laughs softly, her hand curling tighter around Firey's.

After that, the two's conversation was dissolved and they fell into a peaceful silence. Leafy decided to admire the beauty of the garden, just like she does every time she comes here. The flowers swayed softly in the slight breeze, and the early morning sunlight bounced against the petals. The sight gave Leafy a small feeling of nostalgia, it reminded her of when she would go outside before the sun rose just to look at the polite flowers waiting for the light. She always wished people were as nice as those flowers. Back then, the wind seemed to be quiet all the time, almost afraid to interrupt the curious child. Now, the wind whispered softly, understanding that the child has grown up, and can now handle a small background noise. Leafy abruptly stops, spotting the flowers she was looking for.

The sudden stop made Firey tumble and almost fall, but he luckily catching himself before he goes face first into the dirt. Leafy would've tried to help him or even laugh a little, but by the time Firey had stabilized himself, Leafy was already picking flowers.

Firey peers over she shoulder, trying to see what flowers she's getting.

"What are you picking?"

"Buttercups. Can you go further into the garden and get some daisies for me?" Leafy never looked away from the flowers, looking for the perfect ones.

"Sure," Firey replied before walking off.

As he walked off, he wondered why Leafy chose those specific flowers. Was there some special meanings? Normally, Firey wasn't really interested in plants, but Leafy just made it easier to think about for her. Leafy made a lot of things more worth to think about.

Eventually Firey made it to the daisies. The only reason he knew that they were the daisies was because of the sign above the flower bed reading 'daisies'. He walked up to them and started picking some. He doesn't actually remember how much Leafy wanted, he had just guessed twenty.

As he finished picking the flowers, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to be greeted by Leafy.

"Hey Fireman! Did you get the daisies?" She made a big toothy grin at him, which caused him to internally melt. He loved her smile.

"Yup! All right here!" Firey tilted his basket slightly so Leafy could see the daisies.

"That's great! Can you go get me some irises? I'll be getting edelweisses."

"Of course!" Firey and Leafy walked together until Leafy stopped at the edelweisses.

Firey kept walking until he found the irises. After that, Leafy and Firey followed a pattern of meeting up to tell each other about the flowers, then splitting up to pick more flowers. This continued until Leafy said that it was getting a little late, and that they should probably head home. They walked out of the garden and said goodbye before splitting off.

Firey handing Leafy his basket, "Well, today was really nice! I'd love to do this again."

"I'm so glad you liked it! I love the garden. Well, I'll see you later!"

"Bye Leafy!"

"Bye Firey!"

As they both walked their separate ways, Leafy couldn't help but think about how nice Firey was. He's always so willing to help her, even after everything she's done. Leafy knows that she really shouldn't feel so guilty, but she's got the perfect best friend, and she doesn't feel good enough.

Leafy sat down, putting the baskets next to her. She quickly realized that she had wandered off her normal path. That was okay, she supposed. She could just go back when she wanted to. The more she sat there, the more she thought about Firey. Eventually, the thoughts turned... romantic. She knew that she had been suppressing those thoughts for a while, they make her feel even worse.

She started to feel bile rise in her throat. She leaned closer to the ground, hoping to not get herself dirty. She vomited. Violently. It felt like something was tearing her throat apart to get out. Her eyes closed and she started to feel tears from from the pain. When she opened her eyes again, saliva still slowly dripping from her mouth, she saw a pile of gross chunks of something. Among them, she saw something quite strange. A really big chunk, but it didn't look like the others. It was sort of.. grey? Leafy taps at the top of it, a clinking sound comes from it.

It's metal. A chunk of metal just came out of her goddamn throat. She stares at it for a moment, before reaching down to pick it up, carefully lifting it by the top to avoid touching the yucky vomit that surrounded it. It feels heavier than normal metal found in Goiky.

Leafy notices a purple tint to it when the light bounces off of the chunk of metal. Purple. Normal metal doesn't do that. She quickly realizes what type of metal this is.

Yoylemetal; made only by yoyleberries.

Leafy swears she hasn't eaten a yoyleberry in years.

Leafy lifted her sleeve to wipe away the saliva still dripping from her mouth, before coughing violently again. This time, instead of a chunk of metal, it was seeds, and chunks of purple fruit, and green leaves.

Yoyleberries.
