Chapter 9: Dean Finds Out Everything

Chapter 9:
On her walk, Ava didn't hear a car pulled up beside her and she looked up and froze when she saw the impala. Her dad got out of his vehicle and Ava stood frozen in her spot not expecting her dad and she noticed he had his belt.

Dean grab her arm and turned her over and started swinging his belt on her school skirt in 10 hard swats on the side of the road.

Dean: now get in the car

Ava rubbed her butt and hurried into the car she wince sitting down but got in the front seat and buckled up.

Dean got in himself after putting his belt back on and he drives off in silence before speaking.

Dean: why the hell aren't you in school?
Ava shrugged shoulders.
Dean: you better answer me when I'm talking to you girl
Ava: I was at the park
Dean: why?
Ava: skipping school
Dean: I can see that smart ass. Why are you skipping school?
Ava: *squirms* I don't like school
Dean: nobody likes school Ava, it's school! That's not a good enough reason to be ditching
Ava: why aren't you at work?
Dean: I'm answering the questions around here
Ava: you got fired didn't you
Dean: Ava! You didn't answer me, why did you skip school?
Ava: *sighs* because someone is picking on me at school
Dean: you letting someone pick on you? You never let anybody pick on you. You always stood up for your cousin
Ava: well that's the reason and I'm sticking with it
Dean: you sure about that? Because I don't mind pulling this car over and belting you in the back seat to get the real answer

Ava sat silence in the car. Dean slowly pulled the car over and looks over at Ava and she panic.

Dean: I know what you been doing Ava, I knew you were acting weird the past few weeks. I know about the secret messages you been sending to your mother. I know you meet up with your mother occasionally, I know everything
Ava: dad...
Dean: have you been giving her money Ava...

It was quiet between them.

Dean: please tell me you did not give her money

Ava nods her head slowly, Dean sighs and said.

Dean: you're never getting that money again
Ava: she said was going to pay me back
Dean: she lies Ava, your mother owes me a lot of money that she used selling drugs. The reason why we're in debt right now because she used our mortgage payments to pay off her dealer
Ava: I didn't know...
Dean: well now you do. Where did you get the money from Ava?
Ava: I-I used up all my savings that I was going to use for my school trip to Washington, DC
Dean: and guess what, looks like you won't be going on that school trip after all
Ava: daddy... I'm sorry I made a mistake
Dean: don't you even begged your uncle for that money back because when he finds out what you did he won't feel sorry for you. He'll want a few words from you too. How long have you been doing this for Ava?
Ava: I've been skipping mostly every month on Friday we have been meeting up
Dean: seriously Ava?
Ava: we don't do anything on Fridays anyways
Dean: that's beside the point Ava, and didn't you have a test today
Ava: fuck, Uncle Sam going to freak
Dean: your more worried about what your uncle thinks then what I think
Ava: I mean... he's more concerned about my education then you're dad. You don't go to any of my school stuff unless someone forced you
Dean: would you like for me to go to your school more often
Ava: uh yeah, that way kids at my school don't think that I don't have parents
Dean: is that what they think of you?
Ava: yeah they only see my Aunt and Uncle comes by the school and not my parents
Dean: well... that's going to change *turns on car and turns back around*
Ava: what are you doing?
Dean: taking you back to school, so you can take the test and apologize to your principal and take whatever punishment you received at school before you received mines at home
Ava: but-
Dean: and... you're going to tell your Uncle everything you have been doing and I'm going to stick with the spanking every Friday since you have learned nothing
Ava: dad...
Dean: no Ava, I'm done. You have caused too much stress on me this past month and I'm sick it. You don't even seem to care what I'm also going through
Ava: I'm sorry daddy...
Dean: I know, come on let's do this

They arrived at the school and the two walked into the building together. They went over to her principal office and they waited to be called before Ava went into the office with her dad.

Principal: thank you Ava for coming back and being honest with me. You can take your test again in detention today after school
Ava: aww man
Principal: Ava do you mind? I would like a word with your dad please. You can go on and get to class. I will write you a late slip, we are currently in 4th period right now
Ava: yes sir, bye dad
Dean: bye kiddo

Ava leaves and the principal lets Dean looked at his daughter's records in school and told her she hasn't been doing well in class. The principal worried because she knows Ava a smart girl but she's applying herself in her new school, the principal think she is failing on purpose.

Dean: damn... I knew she was having hard time, but didn't think it would be bad. My brother is going to kill her. My brother mostly care about her education then I do
Principal: gee... I wonder where she gets that from
Dean: me... gosh I'm such a terrible dad. She's going through a lot right now with her mom and I haven't been paying any attention to her because I had my own shit to worried about
Principal: I heard about your home, I'm very sorry
Dean: thanks, but I can assure you, her uncle and I will try our best to make sure she does well in school
Principal: I know he will, but speaking of school participates
Dean: *groans* did my brother put you up to this
