Chapter 96: Freezing Cold?

Start from the beginning

"Yes." The gas spoke. "Did you capture the escapees?" (Y/N)'s eyes widened in shock. 'Did my crew escape while I was gone? What was the point of my message to that chopped up head if they're gonna just bust out. Haven't they heard of stealth?!'

The man in the yellow suit walked up to the gas. "Not yet, but I have news about G-5, sir."

The gas scoffed. "Oh, them."

"I'm afraid the poison gas didn't stop them." The suited man explained. "They've been firing their cannons to break through the ice floes. They're slowly forcing their way onto the island." (Y/N) placed her hand on her chin in thought. 'G-5? Isn't that a Navy crew? Oh shit. That means marines are on the island. Wait, he said ice floes, right? Does that mean we're on the opposite side of the island?' The gas groaned in frustration making the suited man speak again. "It looks like... they'll make their way to the laboratory soon."

(Y/N) spotted her sickles resting on a desk not too far off from the yellow suited man. 'Hell yeah.' (Y/N) hovered over her sickles as the gas spoke again. "This is quite vexing. Why do they want to come ashore so badly? Do they know something we don't?" (Y/N) looked up in shock when the gas formed together into a small cloud as the gas spoke with what looked like a mouth and eyes. "Tell me, who is their commanding officer?"

(Y/N) reached down for her sickles, but hesitated when the suited man replied. "Vice Admiral Smoker." (Y/N) looked over at the suited man. 'Smokey? I remember running into him when I was in my teens. I wonder how that man is doing.' (Y/N) smiled at the thought and grabbed her sickles, they faded into air from her touch.

"Oh, is that so?" The gas man did a 360 degree turn before speaking again. "Irksome, but not entirely unexpected, I suppose. All right, then. Conceal the ships we have moored at the front."

"Who's gonna deal with 'em, sir?" The suited man question.

"No one is allowed to be on this island." The gas sternly replied. "That means you cannot let them see you."

"So... you'll deal with 'em?" The suited man questioned again.

"Don't be a fool!" The gas man snapped back. "I can't afford to reveal myself to them!"

"Then what'll we do?" The suited man questioned yet again. "There's nobody else who can stop them!" (Y/N) blankly stared at him. 'That guy asks way too many questions. It's annoying. And... does he have horns under that suit?'

The gas man grunted, thinking about the situation for a few seconds before another voice spoke up. "Ya want me to handle it?" (Y/N) whipped her head back to the doorway. 'I know that voice... wait a second.' Her eyes widened in excited shock when she saw Trafalgar Law. The gas and his subordinate 'huh'ed Law's words in confusion and turned to him. The gas man grunted again and approved Law to go.

(Y/N) quickly flew after Law. She walked behind him, placing her hand on her chin in ponder. 'I wonder if he can help me find my crew mates... but wait. If they were the ones that gas guy was taking about, then is it worth asking him? I mean, where even are they? Is Law working with that gas guy too? No way. He's a pirate, not a lap dog.'

"I know you're following me." Law spoke up, turning his head slightly to glared back (Y/N)'s direction.

(Y/N) looked back in confusion before hovering over Law's shoulder, whispering. "You're talking about me, right?"

"Who else?" Law sassed back while he walked. "What are you even doing here? You should be locked up with your other crew mates." (Y/N) burrowed her eyebrows, looking around her for any guards before spotting a janitor's closet. She swung open the door and pushed Law inside. "Ack! What the—"
