"Sure." He smiled and wrote down his autograph on the paper I had
I then notice a few numbers on it
'Is giving your number easier than saying I love you...'
"Whats the numbers for?" I kept my gaze on the numbers next to his signature
"For you. Im just glad I can talk to you again. I miss your voice."
I choked. No way hes saying this.
'What the fuck?'
I decided to ignore him and kept the autograph in my bag with Ayato's water bottle and other stuff. I dont want to take the autograph he always dreamed of
"Youre not keeping it for yourself?" Sae looked a bit confused
"No. Its for the little kid." I looked behind me and he was gone. Thankfully I saw him playing soccer with the other kids on the nearby field
Sae stayed silent until he decides to speak up
He hesitated a bit but was bothered by it. "Is that your child?"
'HUUUUH??'
My jaw dropped before I cleared my throat
"Its my little cousin. I never thought you'd be the kind of guy to ask that to an ex." I looked at him up and down, he looked way more toned BUT THATS THE LEAST OF MY WORRIES RIGHT NOW-
"I..."
I blinked "Nows my turn, I thought you hated my voice? Whys it that youre still here?"
Sae stayed quiet
"Is it part of your egoistic persona to flat out ignore questions that will bring your ego down?" I chuckled
Sae still kept his silence, it was paining me now
"Why. You never cared for me.. Why is it that youre here now...?"
"It pains me to think about it."
I hit a nerve. Sae clenched his fists and looked down, looked like he was fighting back tears
"...Thanks for the autograph. My cousin wouldnt stop talking about you on the way to the park. About how youre the best midfielder in the world of soccer.. how youre so talented and all that. And it made me realize something."
Saes eyes widenned.
"I was holding you back from your career."
"All I did was annoy you with texts and calls.. make you have to worry about a lonesome and clingy girlfriend.. I really was the issue.."
