Because she forgot it was fucking pouring with rain
'Dammit father! Why do I have to go today of all days?!' Y/n groaned internally
Y/n scratched the back of her head. "I don't have a spell that can protect me from the rain, so I guess I'm just gonna have to book it to the nearest shop."
Y/n then shot out into the pouring rain, getting soaked immediately
What she failed to realize was that someone had seen her leave the castle and was right on her tail
But because of the pouring rain, Y/n couldn't hear the person's footsteps behind her
Y/n had almost made it to the nearest shop before a hard force came down on the back of her head, knocking her down immediately
She looked up from the ground to see narrowed eyes and an evil smirk looking down at her
"Payback bitch."
And Y/n's world went black

Y/n's thoughts woke her up as she slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room
It was dark but she could see a window in the corner, and sure enough, it was still pouring
'Where am i?'
Once her brain put itself back together after getting literally smashed, she realized she was laying on the ground with her legs and arms tied
'Okay. What the hell is going on?'
She tried to get up to her knees but something hurt. What it was, she didn't know. But it wasn't good
"Are you awake yet?" that same voice said
The lights immediately flicked on, and Y/n had to shut her eyes to not be blinded by the light
Once her eyes adjusted, she opened them again and finally saw who her kidnapper was
"You!" Y/n exclaimed
"I'm glad you recognized me," she said
"Miss Ashlynn, please dont be to rough" an older man wearing a suit appeared in the doorway
"Yeah yeah whatever," Ashlynn replied as she shut the door
She then turned to Y/n. "I've been waiting for the day when I could take my revenge."
Ashlynn De la Rue is the middle child of the noble De la Rue family, having an older brother and a younger sister. During the magic knight entrance exam, she had challenged Y/n to a duel, thinking she was from some commoner village with weak magic power
Y/n had proved her wrong when she beat Ashlynn with one spell, humiliating her in front of the squad captains and the other examinees
Ashlynn was still accepted into the Coral Peacocks for her talent throughout the rest of the exam but she could've done better
If it wasn't for Y/n
Ashlynn smirked evily down at Y/n
"I won't be gentle"
She pulled out her grimoire. "Plant magic: Twin Rose Vines
Two large roses grew from the floor, each with 4 long spiky vines
"Scream as loud as you want. No one will hear you" Ashlynn said
And one of the the vines came down and whipped Y/n on the leg
