Foster Panic Attack

Start from the beginning

Keefe took her hand. "You guys should go back to study hall. It's probably not the best idea to overwhelm her when she wakes up."

As reluctantly as they possibly could, one by one the rest of the gang trudged out of the Healing Center. Keefe smiled at their stubbornness. They were all concerned for her and he appreciated it. She would do the same for them, after all.

He turned his attention back to Sophie, brushing the hair out of her face and stroked her hand to offer the best comfort he could. Every few minutes he would press a kiss to her forehead.

"Aww. You guys are too cute," a voice commented from somewhere behind him. He would recognize the voice anywhere.

"What are you doing here, Ro?"

Ro smirked. "That's not a very nice way to greet your old bodyguard, is it?" Keefe rolled his eyes. She groaned. "I wanted to come check up on Sparkletown, see how you and Blondie are getting along. Though I take it she's had another brush with death? Or is it just a regular thing for her to pass out like this?"

Keefe narrowed his eyes at the ogre princess. "She passed out from stress. And I'm sure she'd love for you to stay and chat, but she's kind of still recovering from our latest battle." He went back to playing with Sophie's hair.

"Yeah...I know. I'm just more interested in your victory with Little Miss Oblivious over there. I still can't believe how long it took for her to finally—"

Sophie saved Keefe from the humiliating end to that sentence by choosing that moment to groan back awake. He was quick to steady her when she tried to sit up and fell back down from the head rush. She groaned again and clutched her head, rubbing her temples.

"Careful there, Foster. You were out, hard," Keefe told her, brushing his hands over her forehead. "How do you feel?" he asked, his voice quieter and laced with concern.

Sophie grinned at him. "Better."

Sophie's POV:

Keefe smiled and took her hand. Elwin walked in and judging by his face, he was shocked to see her awake. He turned to Keefe and glared at him before saying "One second—I'll get you some medicine" and disappeared somewhere. Sophie realized that Keefe wasn't the only one with her.

"Ro?" she asked, confused. "When did you get here?"

Ro smirked. "Not too long ago, I just wanted to see how you're doing. Has Hunkyhair been taking good care of you? If not, I could always use some of my flesh eating bac—"

Sophie cut her off with a stern, "No bacteria or amoebas needed, thank you. He's been taking excellent care of me." Keefe smirked at Ro proudly.

Elwin walked back, carrying a few elixirs.

"Here, drink all of these," he instructed. She downed them all and felt a warm tingly feeling inside of her.

"Thanks, Elwin. That feels a lot better."

Elwin smiled at her and checked her over one more time before releasing her.

"I think," Keefe suggested slowly, "you should skip study hall and go home to rest. I'll even come with you. You really do need sleep, Foster."

Sophie was about to refuse when she thought long and hard about it. A good rest did seem tempting, especially if Keefe was by her side to help in case of nightmares.

Surprising herself, she agreed.

*~*~*

(Idk if this next part might be 'too intimate' for some of you but here's your brief warning. There, you've been warned.)

They leaped to Havenfield, which was still barren of any parents. Both raced up to her room and Keefe flopped onto the bed. Sophie shook her head at his childishness and looked through her closet for something to wear. Keefe walked over, his hand playfully messing his hair and looked through. He pulled out a pair of pajamas Biana had given her; a comfy red crop top and soft white shorts. He handed it to her and pecked her cheek before going back to her bed and flopping onto it. Sophie laughed and changed in the bathroom.

When she came back out, Keefe was on her bed and playing with Ella. She smiled, crawling onto the bed next to him. He shifted so that his head rested on her lap as he continued fiddling with Ella's floppy ears. Sophie played with his feathery hair, marveling internally at how impossibly soft it was. Keefe smirked and looked up at her.

"I'm picking up on some very swoony feelings, Foster," he teased her. Sophie blushed bright red and continued toying with his hair—but he put down Ella and grabbed her hands, bringing them to his lips. The contact sent goosebumps across her skin, prompting another smirk, somehow even wider, from Keefe.

Sophie leaned down and pressed her lips to Keefe's forehead. He sat up and pulled her towards him so that she straddled him. Simpering(it's a word—I dunno), he pressed his lips to her neck, causing her to gasp sharply.

She let her arms wrap around his neck and go up and down. Keefe trailed up her neck, leaving feathery kisses.

"Let's see how you push me away now." He smirked. Sophie opened her mouth to argue but he cut her off by pressing his lips to hers.

Sophie took the challenge seriously and tried to break free from his grasp but he was strong. He loosened his grasp every few seconds but tightened it when she moved. She gave up and pressed one hand to his chest while the other traced his neck softly.  Their lips moved together in such perfect sync, it drove her crazy. His hands slid up her back and tangled in her hair. She gasped again. He finally let her pull away after a few more seconds.

"Unsuccessful?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Sophie rolled her eyes and wrapped both hands around Keefe's neck, rubbing it softly. She stopped and removed her hands but Keefe took it and put it back. "Don't stop," he told her, slightly breathless from the kiss.

Sophie grinned and whipped her hands back.

"So...you want to play?" he asked, closing in. Sophie shook her head playfully. Keefe smirked. "Your emotions tell me otherwise." Keefe laughed. In one quick motion, he grabbed her and pulled her to his chest, holding her there. Sophie shrieked, giggling. "You can't get away that easily, Foster."

Sophie laughed and tried to push him away but they both ended up tumbling onto the floor. Keefe flipped them so he broke her fall. But then he flipped her over again and started tickling her.

"Keefe! Sto-stop!" she yelled in between her giggles. She ended up kicking him.

"Oww!" he yelped, falling back. Sophie crawled to his hunched figure.

"Keefe? Are you okay?" she asked, worried. Keefe leapt up and seized her again.

"Please, Keefe," she begged as he was about to tickle her again. "I'm too tired for this."

He looked her straight in the eyes and said, "Why didn't you just tell me?"

When she shrugged, he picked her up and gently set her down on the bed. Keefe grabbed the blanket and pulled it up, swiftly sliding under it and nestling next to her. Sophie snuggled up against Keefe, content as he wrapped his arms around her and traced slow circles on her back that soothed her.

He whispered sweet nothings to her until she felt her eyelids get heavy. He pressed a kiss to her forehead and murmured, "Good night, Foster. I love you."

Content, Sophie let sleep pull her under.

After a long time, she finally had a peaceful sleep.

Take that, panic attacks, she thought as she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer. Team Foster-Keefe will always win.
