"Nothing, Keefe's just being overprotective," Sophie muttered, sitting down on her cot. Keefe pouted sitting next to her.
"Well I have to be. Since Gigantor's taking that break with Grizel, I'm your designated bodyguard for the time being. And come on! I want to make sure you're okay! Is that such a bad thing?"
Sopihe's previously irritated emotions fluttered with love as she looked away, trying to hide the small smile. Keefe grinned. Success!
Elwin laughed and walked over, snapping his fingers to make his colorful orbs swirl around her. "Hmm, Sophie you're severely dehydrated and extremely tired. My, those are some miserable cells. Keefe, you have to take better care of her—get her to drink more water. Stop glaring, Sophie—I know telling you is pointless because you don't listen! But Keefe has his way of making you cooperate." Elwin raised an eyebrow.
Keefe winked. "I do."
Sophie flushed and punched his shoulder playfully. Keefe clutched his shoulder and howled in mock pain. He fell to the floor, writhing and groaning. Sophie stared at him in shock while Elwin watched on with amusement.
"I'll leave this one to you, Sophie." Elwin chucked, leaving.
Sophie shook her head at her ridiculous boyfriend. "Keefe, get up," she ordered.
He pouted at her. "But it hurts!" he whined. Sophie glared at him and he reluctantly stood up and took his original position. "You're no fun, Foster."
Sophie raised an eyebrow and...
Tackled him to the floor.
Who knew this girl could do all that? Actually—never mind, Keefe had known. He'd seen her throw Ruy across the battlefield before. She pinned him down in a few seconds and grit her teeth.
"Repeat what you said, Pretty Boy."
Keefe grinned. "I love you," he stated, knowing it would help his situation. It did, in fact, help. Her face softened and she opened her mouth to say something but he cut her off by....
Pushing her shoulder and flipping them both, leaving him on top of her.
Yeah............................ not a good idea.
Her face was in such a state of shock and betrayal, he felt extremely guilty and wanted to apologize. But... he was Keefe... so...
He kissed her instead.
She was startled at first but she melted into the kiss. He knew she felt slightly uncomfortable with their position, so he pulled them both up so she was straddling him.
She broke away in a few seconds and glared at him.
"You don't get to do that after what you did," she stated. Keefe pouted but that didn't seem to work on her this time.
She punched his shoulder, harder this time, and got up, storming out. Keefe stared after for a few seconds, blinking—and then the gravity of the situation seemed to sink in. He ran after her, calling out a brief goodbye and thank-you to Elwin.
He walked out and looked around, tearing a hand through his hair. An idea struck him and he jogged to his ditching spot. There she was, looking around. Keefe smiled, watching her look at the same bench he sat on with admiration. He knew she was thinking about the day they met. Slowly, he crept up behind her. Keefe watched as she traced the bench with her finger. He stretched his arm out and grabbed her by the waist making her shriek.
"Shhh. You don't want any Mentors hearing, do you?" Keefe shushed.
Sophie's face flushed and she mumbled something about him being too sneaky. Keefe laughed and pulled her down to sit beside him on the bench. Keefe was about to say something when Sophie interrupted him.
