End Up Here Chapter 4

The next morning, Allie dropped me off at the boys' house. "Allie, don't forget, when I text you saying we're almost done," I began to remind her.

"I know, I know, call you with an excuse to get you out of there before you end up in Michael's bed," she finished with a laugh. During breakfast, Allie and I came up with a way to keep me from Michael. She would drop me off at the house to prevent me from going early and call me 10 minutes after I texted her. She would have to make up an excuse to get me to run off right away leaving me no time to talk to Michael. It wasn't the best plan, but it would have to do for now. I knew Allie was an actress, but there were only so many excuses she could make up that involved me. "Now go, write something beautiful," she handed me my coffee and shooed me out of her car with the words she always said to me before I started writing.

I waved goodbye as I watched her car disappear. With a deep breath, I made my way to the 5sos studio, as the boys would call it. I kept repeating the words in my head. Write something beautiful. Something beautiful. Suddenly, I had an idea for some lyrics and ran to the door as fast as my high heeled boots could take me while trying not to spill my coffee all over myself. Quite proud of not spilling a drop, I knocked on the door, eager to start.

"Oh, hey B. Good morning," a very sleepy Luke greeted me.

I laughed at his half asleep, half awake state and gave an energetic good morning to him.

"Is that coffee?" he asked and without waiting for a reply, Luke took the cup from my hand and helped himself to my coffee.

"Um, yes. Would you like some?" I replied with a sarcastic tone as he downed the cup.

"Oh, sorry. Did you want some?" Luke offered me the cup. I glanced inside and saw there was only less than a sip left.

"No, I'm good. I think you needed it more than I did, anyways," I told the sleepy boy. "So where is everyone?"

"They should be here soon. They made me go here just in case you showed up early," he explained. Luke was snuggled up in the corner of the couch, obviously still tired.

I took a seat on one of the office chairs facing the recording booth and grabbed my laptop from my backpack. As it was starting up, I told Luke about my idea, still facing the recording booth and he mumbled a reply. "What was that?" I questioned, turning only to find him asleep on the couch. Never mind, then. I put some headphones on, and got to work.

I had already written a chorus and was working on a bridge when I began to wonder where the boys were. Last time I checked on Luke, he was still asleep. I read through what I had typed out, really happy with what I had come up with on my own. I grabbed my phone and began texting Ashton, asking him where he and the others were. Standing to stretch my legs, I tuned to walk to the door.

I wasn't expecting what happened next.

I guess you can't really expect an accident, that's why they are called accidents. I wanted to blame him, but it was mostly my fault. I had headphones on with music blasting so I didn't hear them when they came in. In addition, I wasn't looking because I was texting so I couldn't see them. Overall, I just wasn't paying attention. But that certainly did not stop me from getting mad at Michael. After all, it was his coffee that spilled all over me.

"Oh my fucking god," were the first words that I muttered once the initial shock had ended. Once the pain from the hot coffee faded, I was more focused on my clothes being ruined. So much for not spilling a drop.

"Holy shit, Ellie, I am so sorry," Michael apologized. I looked up to meet his eyes, worry and guilt were clearly evident. "I really didn't mean to. I thought you had seen me. I'm sorry, I was gonna move but, I- I'm sorry," he continued to ramble.
