You continued to desperately search, despite going over the same structures over and over

Finally you see your old friend Rosaline, unmoving in the middle of the tank. Her algae green and leech black scales glistening in the small amount of light let in by the sun, her sand blonde hair flowing in the water

"Rosaline... is this real?"
You stopped swimming towards her, in disbelief.

"Y/n..."

You watch as her scales start to fall off, followed by blood coming out of the fresh wounds. Her fin comes and and starts to bleed, looking as if it just got sliced off, her hair turns into a pixie cut as if the rest had been hacked off...

"Why didn't you save me, Y/n? You were there, I pleaded for help. But you didn't move..."
Her voice was devoid of any emotion

"I..."
You couldn't muster up a sentace. Guilt and disgust setting in as you saw what has become of you old best friend

"If you weren't so incompetent, I wouldn't have died!"
Her voice got angry and loud... so loud.. it hurt to hear. You missed her

"I'm so sorry..."
You say, a tone full of sorrow

"It's too late for sorry's now, isn't it!? You were weak and it cost me my life! You're pathetic! A pathetic excuse of a mermaid! How could someone so- What am I even saying? I don't blame you, you were a little angel."

"Huh?..."

"I just let me anger out on you, sorry!"

The anger this... hallucination infront of you held just... dissipated

You picked up a small decorative shell and threw it at the hallucination of Rosaline. Upon being hit, she dissapeared...

After she disappeared, you started to cry... well, that's what you thought was happening. You couldn't tell, you were under the water.

Feeling dazed by whatever just happened, you swam to the surface of the tank.

"Oh Y/n... Why are you in such a confined space?"
The memory or more realistically, hallucination of the Rosaline you once knew swam up next to you

She was back to the energetic siren you once knew, a complete 180 from how she was acting just minutes ago

"I wish I knew..."
You slouched a bit

"Well, why don't you climb out?"
She tilted her head, seeming curious

"I don't have legs, Rosâ."

"Have you never tried to leave the water? Your tail will turn into legs silly!"

"So now you're trying to kill me? You're such a cruel hallucination..."
You looked away

"I'm not trying to kill you. You're a mermaid, you can breath out of water."
Rosaline crosses her arms then gestures at the curp of the tank

You hesitated before carefully grabbing onto the curb and pulling yourself up and out of the water.

Laying on The ground near the tank you waited for something to happen.

"Huh.. maybe it's just a siren thingy... oopsie!"
The hallucination of Rosaline walks over to you, now having human legs

"That would've been nice to know earlier..."

You feel your tail start to separate at the middle, forming two human legs!

"Oh! It is a mermaid thing too! Um... Here! You'll need this."
The hallucination of Rosaline throws some clothes on you. Wait... Hallucinations can't give physical objects! They aren't even real!
