"Nathan, I'm ready here!" George shouted to his son, and the boy came jogging over and took a tray from beside his father at the barbeque, taking it over to the table.

"Everyone's over there if you wanna join them." She said sweetly as she walked over to her husband.

"Monique not coming out? does she not want a burger?" he asked.

"I think shes a little overwhelmed." She responded. "Jackie looks like shes doing alright though." glancing over at the girl, who was talking to Danny. "We are a lot to take in." Now looking over at Isaac and Lee Who were hitting each other with blue pool noodles. "I think we might just have to give her some space." She spoke again, going to hug George.

"Hey, is Monique not coming down for dinner?" Alex asked walking up to his parents. If he was honest he really wanted to see her again, obviously he wouldn't tell them that.

"No, sweetie. She's not very hungry." His mom said.

"Okay, well, uh...I'm going to, um, go get a...glass of water. I'll be right back." Alex poorly excused himself, dropping the sword and shield he was holding, and rushing off before his parents could say anything about how bad of a liar he was.

He sped up the stairs and was about to knock on her door before realising something. He still hadn't given her back the bow from her hair. he looked about for a second, trying to think where it might be.

Where? Where? Where could it be?

The coffee table

Alex ran back down the stairs, probably the fastest he ever had in his life, into the living room...only the bow wasn't where he had left it. Now he was really screwed. Not only did he have no actual reason to go and talk to her, but he had lost her bow.

"Great. Think Alex, think. Where would it be?" he muttered to himself.

he scanned the room, over and over again. Until he finally spotted it. Nestled in a wad of barbie doll hair, in a neon green box filled with Parker's toys. She must have thought that it was one of their accessories. As he knelt beside the box attempting to untangle the delicate thing from the platinum blonde strands of Amelia's (the doll Parker had had for 4 years) hair, Isaac walked in and leaned against the door frame.

"Bro. What the hell are you doing?" he asked confusedly.

The only reply Alex could give was to hold up the newly freed bow, and half sprint out of the room and up the stairs, leaving an even more confused Isaac in his wake.

As Alex reached her door he began to get nervous. His palms were sweating and his throat was dry again. Not sure what to do, he thought about walking away and trying again later. But then the door opened. She had changed out of her clothes from earlier but she was still just as radiant and gorgeous. Now she wore a pastel yellow t-shirt and denim overall. It suited her.

"Oh...Hi Alex" Monique said, a little shocked that he was outside her door. "You can, uh, come in, i-if you want." A bit nervously this time.

"Um, s-sure, uh, okay." he laughed a bit before stepping into her's and Jackie's bedroom.

"Are you alright?"

"Oh!" He said, realising he was probably staring at her. "Yeah, um, I just wanted to give you this back...it fell out of your hair earlier." he walked closer to her this time.

"That's really sweet Alex yo-" she paused seeing how close they were now. She wasn't uncomfortable though, she enjoyed being close to him. she looked down at her feet and saw that the tips of their shoes were nearly touching.

It was at this moment that he felt...confident. Putting two fingers under her chin, he lifted her head to look at him. then he used one hand to sweep some hair from in front of her face to behind her ear, pinning it in place with the dainty white bow. Doing so his hand brushed against her face and butterflies exploded in her stomach. She was sure she looked three shades from a tomato.

This made Alex laugh, and seeing her blush only made him feel even more confident. She was looking down again so he lifted her head again.

"Look at me Monique." He said. And she did.

"You look beautiful." Alex whispered to her, there faces nearly touching, lips mere inches apart.

"Thanks." She said in the same quiet tone.

Neither of them wanted to move away. It felt like they both started to lean in and-

"Alex, honey, where are you? Are you okay?"
