Chapter 16: Discussions

"Yeah!" Scootaloo smiled at Tempest.

Tempest hesitated for a second, not sure of what to say. "...Thanks" She managed to say.

"Of course!" Scootaloo looked more cheerful than she was a few moments ago. Tempest smiled at the thought of being able to help the orange filly feel happy again.

Just then, Starlight teleported in between the two ponies. She looked panicked.

"Tempest, you need to come with me to Canterlot, right now!"

Starlight's gaze was so filled with panic that Tempest's mind couldn't help but wander to Twilight.

If something happened to her....

"Of course! What's going on?" Tempest's heart started racing from adrenaline.

"I'll explain when we get there. Come on!"

Before Tempest could say ask back, Starlight ignited her horn and teleported herself and Tempest to Canterlot.

The two mares entered the throne room, where Princesses Celestia and Luna were on their thrones and Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, Flurry Heart, and Twilight were facing them.

"What do you mean he has to go?" Twilight protested.

"There was a threat made against the citizens of Equestria." Princess Celestia answered, gesturing to her sister for her explanation.

"In the Dreamscape last night, I encountered a being within somepony's dream." Princess Luna explained, "The being was...... strangely behaving, is the best way to put it. They appeared to have the front half of a pony and the back half was all black smoke trailing off them."

Twilight gasped, "You don't think it's...... her, do you?"

Princesses Celestia and Luna nodded in response. "We do."

"I thought you said she fled Equestria after she tried to attack it all those years ago?" Princess Cadence inquired, "Why is she just attacking now?"

"Could somepony fill those of us in who don't know who you're talking about?" Tempest asked the princesses.

Twilight looked back at Tempest and smiled. Tempest greeted her with a smile and a small wave, trying not to blush in front of the rulers of Equestria.

"Her name is Metamorphosis." Princess Luna stepped forward, "She's an over one thousand year old... 'shadow pony', if you will. Born from Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra, she grew up under the guidance of their ways."

"Rumor has it that her parents taught her the magic of transformation and mind control," Twilight added, "but when she was young, a shadow shifting spell taught by her father went wrong, and caused her lower half to be stuck in shadow form."

"When Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra both attacked their first times over one thousand years ago," Princess Cadence continued, "she watched both her parents be defeated in the shadows, and left Equestria in despair."

"She did return to Equestria, but not to seek help and guidance for her wrongdoings against Equestria." Princess Celestia said, "She wanted to attack my sister and I for banishing her father to the frozen north and her mother into the badlands. Eventually, we got our point across, and she fled Equestria for good. I thought she would've come back to taunt me for banishing Luna to the moon, but she never did. I thought she'd finally moved on."

"But since I defeated and killed her mother, she might be coming back for revenge!" Starlight commented, "Especially if she finds out I'm an alicorn, now."

Princess Luna nodded at Starlight's statement. "She must have been practicing the dark magic she was taught, because what I witnessed her do to this poor pony was.....shocking." The Princess of the Night shuttered at the thought.
