"This is Jackie and Monique. Girls, that's Alex and Isaac" the older man said, pointing at each boy.

Alex...His name was Alex.

"what's up." Isaac said.

But only Jackie seemed to hear him. Monique was still staring at Alex. The more she looked, the more she noticed about the boy. He had freckles. Lots of freckles. Monique thought freckles were really cute. She thought he was really cute. But no matter how much she loved freckles, that wasn't what she liked most about him. What she couldn't stop looking at was his eyes. Oh, his eyes. They were this amazing hazel colour. Honey brown with flecks of emerald green encased behind a glassy cover like they were part of an art exhibit. They should be, Monique thought. He had nice eyelashes too. Long, luscious, dark. He looked very nice. He looked sweet.

Although he appeared to be doing the same thing. Staring, lips parted ever so slightly, right at Monique. she was beautiful. The very same freckles she raved about, dusted slightly across her nose and cheeks. She had the most gorgeous chocolate brown eyes. Her skin was a beautiful bronzed colour that looked like it would glitter in the most breathtaking way, when the golden hour light was cast upon it. Her hair shined, it looked so soft, soft enough to run his fingers through. How he wanted to run his fingers through the brunette locks. He slowly looked her up and down, gently dragging his eyes across her. She was shorter than him, he thought it very cliche, but she was cute. she looked stunning. she was stunning. And stunned, he was. And he just kept looking, imagining. she was almost ethereal. To beautiful to really exist. The way he was looking at her made Monique blush. Alex watched as he most beautiful shade of rose crossed the apples of her cheeks and how she looked down smiling. He wanted to talk to her, but his throat was dry, all he could do was swallow and try not to choke.

The youngest Howard girl watched this. Watched as his adams apple bobbed. Watched as he tried to find some words to say, as he stuttered, as he blushed himself.

"Hi, I-I'm Alex." He barely managed to speak, cringing as he realised he held his hand out for her to shake. But Monique took it gladly. her hands were smaller than his, and soft too. He could see the baby blue nail polish that coated her perfectly manicured nails, and he could feel how warm they were against his own.

"I guessed." Monique said, breathless herself. He was very handsome up close. He was pretty too. And cute. And a whole host of other words sprang to mind as she stared at his face, whilst taking his hand. It was rougher than her own, but its still felt nice. As she held it, it felt a little harder to breathe, she probably kept holding it for longer than she should have but Monique couldn't get over the feeling. it felt so...right.

"Yeah." Alex said. it was barely audible but Monique would do anything to hear his voice again.

"Well...my names Monique." She spoke in the same faint whisper he had, leaning closer so that he would here it.

"That's a beautiful name...Monique."

There was something about the way that he said her name...it made her feel things. Imagine things. Want things.

At some point, one of them, neither could remember which, stepped away. Alex coughed, clearing his throat, attempting to regain his composure. Something about her just made him loose his cool, not that he ever claimed to have any. He was the nerdy shy guy that no one really payed any mind to. but Monique...Monique had noticed him, And he would do anything to keep her looking.

"Got another couple bags out in the truck if you can go grab it." George asked his son.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah. Sure thing." He was barely coming out of the haze Monique had somehow put him in.

As he walked past he smiled at both girls, receiving a knowing smile back from Jackie. But then he noticed something on the floor. a pristine white bow on a clip. It just had to be Monique's. There simply was no one else the charming item could belong to. But before he had he chance to give it to her, or even mentioned it they had disappeared along the hallway. He was already feeling colder without her presence.

Alex picked up the exquisite thing and placed it on the table carefully.

"She's hot."

"What?" Alex had forgotten that Isaac was even in the room. This made him cringe internally knowing that he had witnessed the whole thing and that he would never live it down.

"I said, she's cute. Well I didn't say that exactly but you know what i mean."

"Yeah...yeah, whatever."

"Dude you know I saw that whole thing right. You making a complete fool of yourself. Shaking her hand, bro. You might as well have gotten on one knee and kissed her hand at that point. In fact i think she might have liked that more!" Isaac said, laughter caught in his throat.

"Whatever." Alex laughed to himself, trying to hide his embarrassment, as he went to collect the other bags.

•• ok so it's safe to say I may have gotten a bit carried away writing this. The chapter itself self is over 2,500 words long. I just had so much fun writing it. I love the chemistry between Monique and Alex.
•• also I will say I did go into a lot of detail with everything. I just like to be able to visualise things and see what characters are thinking. I want that for you as well.
•• don't forget to comment, I want to know what you all think. This hasn't been edited so feel free to point out any mistakes, kindly of course. Just remember I'm not American ,so if you are, I spell things differently. Hope you enjoy reading. Love ya.
