Actual Double Dates

Start from the beginning

Immediately they protested. "All right! Fine, we'll do you stupid dare," Tam muttered.

"Great!" Biana exclaimed. "When should we do it?"

Sophie thought for a minute. "How about after school?"

"Sure," they all agreed.

"Where are you guys going?" Fitz asked.

Biana rolled the question around her head before it clicked into place. "We should do a double date!" she exclaimed.

"What?" everyone at the table wondered.

She rolled her eyes. "A double date—Tam and me with Keefe and Sophie, so that way we can keep an eye on them but have a fun time doing it!"

"I don't mind it," Sophie said.

Keefe smirked. "I've been waiting for a date night—why not?" He shrugged. Tam shrugged too. Sophie blushed while Biana smiled.

"Don't be too smug, your future hangs on how well this all goes down," Dex reminded them, and they both paled. Biana smirked. Meanwhile, Sophie seemed to be wondering whether she would be receiving a makeover—and if so, her escape plans.

Keefe slung his arms around her shoulder. "What are you thinking, Foster?"

Sophie sighed. "Biana." The one word seemed enough of a reply for Keefe to understand.

"Don't worry, Sophie," Biana said. "I won't do too big of a makeover."

Sophie let out the breath she was holding.

"All I have to do is give you some heels, a pretty dress, do your hair up, and pretty makeup," she finished, satisfied. Sophie groaned and started protesting, but she was silenced by Biana. "If you disagree, I'll make it that much more painful," she warned.

Sophie shut up, burying her face in Keefe's shoulder to muffle her groans. Dex coughed, Fitz sent her a pitying look, Marella smirked, and Linh seemed...excited?

Oh no.

What kinds of torture did they have planned?

Keefe's POV:

Keefe was sure that wherever Sophie was, she was in pain. But no matter, because it always paid off and—not that she didn't always look pretty—she'd look gorgeous for sure afterward.

He'd been looking forward to this date night all day—he didn't even bother ditching. He totally wasn't paying attention, though, because he was thinking about how much he wanted the day to be over so he could meet with Sophie again. Biana had strictly told both him and Tam to pick them up from Havenfield after school at 5 pm, claiming they needed time to get ready.

But did they really need over 3 hours of makeup time?

Of course, they did—they're girls.

Scratch that—it's Biana.

Finally, study hall was over and Keefe was able to run through the halls to the Leapmaster. He tore through the crowds of students and made it first to use the Leapmaster. It was then that he remembered: Sophie wanted to speak with him after Study Hall.

Oops.

He dashed back, running through the hallways, bumping into several students, and crashed into a familiar blonde elf.

"Keefe!" Sophie exclaimed, regaining her balance. "What are you—did you forget?"

Keefe shook his head, panting. Sophie shook her head, amused. "I just wanted to ask what you have planned," she said. "so I can make Biana have us match.
