Silence.
"Well?" Red urged.
"You just told us not to tell you," MFR shrugged.
Shaking their head in annoyance, the half-demon reiterated, "Just tell me straight: did you, or did you not, break that rule as well?"
"None of us are straight, doubt we could tell you straight," Evan joked, in an attempt to lighten the tension. Groaning with impatience, Red turned to Ronnie with a frustrated expression, not bothering to repeat the question a third time.
"We, well..." the young man began slowly, "May have broken that rule as well."
"How long did you spend there?"
As though they were straining to remember, a look of intense concentration crossed Evan's face. "Maybe like, two or three... possibly four..."
"You were there for four days!?" the half-demon exclaimed, the tips of their horns and the end of their tail flaring a bright red as their heart rate spiked.
"Weeks," Ronnie corrected, his tone regretful.
"What?"
"Well, it wasn't a full four weeks!" Evan mentioned, his black and purple tail hanging low as he dropped his head down guiltily. "It was... like... three weeks and two days... I think."
Leaning far back into their office chair, causing it to tilt backwards slightly, Red held their head in their hands, before looking up to the ceiling as though they were seeking some kind of guidance. "Is there any other crucial detail I should know about that you've failed to mention to me so far?"
Evan looked away awkwardly. "Depends on what you'd consider as, "crucial," I guess."
Standing up from their chair, Red reached into their pocket and pulled out a small, dark metal key, which they used to unlock a series of drawers to the side of their office. "What simulation did the others get trapped in?" they asked, as they began to search through the contents of the storage. "The Visage one, or the FNAF one?"
"They're in a new one," Ronnie responded hesitantly.
"A new one?" Red repeated in confusion, rummaging through the lowest drawer. "What do you mean, "in a new one?" There are only two throughout the trilogy."
"We don't quite know how it happened," Evan began, "But we... well, sort of ended up in our own simulation, I guess?"
"I... ugh, I'm not gonna ask," the red half-demon sighed. "What's this new simulation based on then? Nothing too complicated, I hope."
"Monsters and Mortals," MFR stated.
"Bendy and the Ink Machine," Evan explained at the same time.
"Hello Neighbour," Ronnie also said simultaneously.
Red paused their search for a moment, staring at the wall. Despite the fact no one could see their expression, the group knew it certainly wasn't a pleasant one. "You all just saying something random or are there three different simulations?"
"No, there's just one," MFR confirmed. "But it's a blend of all three. The area is set out like a Monsters and Mortals maze, with dozens of puzzles like the kind you'd find in Hello Neighbour, all while being stylised to look like something out of Bendy and the Ink Machine."
"Kinda cool concept, to be fair," Evan murmured, his words immediately being cut off by a side eye glare that the red hooded figure shot them.
"Alright. Alright, fine," the author muttered, resuming their search through the bottom drawer, the tings of metal and chinking of glass chorusing as a result. It didn't take much longer for them to pull out a round-bottomed flask containing a deep maroon liquid, a cork stopped firmly pressed atop the lid. For a moment, they viewed the label that had been stuck over the surface, one that had been written in their handwriting. Nodding to themselves, the half-demon placed the bottle on top of the set of drawers, closed the bottom drawer, and began to search through the middle, sorting through a collection of rather ornate-looking writing utensils. "What infected character is in this simulation?" they asked. "Darko? Anti?"
