Back again, guys.
|FIRST PERSON POV|
I rushed into the building with Detective Rose and her five men with strong determination to catch one of the most wanted art thieves in Mobius. The building was huge, its name was Angel Island Museum. It was covered in plants and strikingly beautiful.
"Are you sure about this, Agent?" the Detective asked while walking steadfast behind me. "Yes, I'm sure. It's happening today. He's here." I looked ahead of me as the manager, a surprisingly big and strong-looking man, came up to us and asked what was going on.
Rose answered his question as we still made our way towards the famous green emerald's room. "I'm Detective Rose," she pulled her ID out, flipped it open for the manager to see, and then she flipped it close, and put it back in her jacket. She continued, "the darker hedgehog ahead of us is G.U.N Agent Shadow.
We have been informed by a fairly reasonable source that one of the most wanted thieves in Mobius is stealing the Master Emerald today, around this time." We entered the room full of tourists, a fairly big gem (About the size of a kids' baseball glove) surrounded by said tourists.
I instantly slowed my pace, and made my way through the crowd to get a clearer view of the jewel. It was still there. Had that bat lied to me? She was known for her tips and tricks...I stepped up to the emerald and stared at it.
The room was quiet, with whispers growing after each moment passing by. I stopped, I was very close to it. I could feel the power...It felt farther away from where the one I saw was, though. He was here. Still was. The energy wasn't moving.
I dragged my eyes across the room, looking for anyone who looked nervous or guilty. No one. Everybody was just surprised and curious. Looking back down at the emerald that was in its secure spot, the manager spoke up.
"It's fine. The gem is still there, as you can see. It's nearly impossible to steal something as big as this in front of one-hundred mobian. This was all outrageous, I'm going to give your supervisors a call." He stared at me and then I felt him shift his gaze towards the detective.
"Agent..." Rose uttered, ignoring the manager's angry comment. I kept staring at the jewel. It wasn't real. It sure did look real, but the light shining through the jewel told me otherwise. "Normally," I started, motioning the detective and the manager towards me. "with a real emerald, you would see a blue or green hue with the light shining through it." I pointed at the colors that shine on the walls in front of us.
"This fake though, it shines through with a yellow undertone. This indicates...That this is not your emerald..."
I pulled out a magnifying glass and tried to look for any natural cracks in the emerald. They weren't there, another indication. "Real emeralds, I'm sure you know," I say, gesturing to the manager, "have little cracks in them. These gems are known for their imperfections." I added, handing him the magnifying glass, he took it and looked for himself.
After a few seconds he pulled back away from the jewel and looked over at his assistant with a pale muzzle.
"We need to block off all exits to this room, now." Rose remarked, firmly. His assistant hurriedly rushed to a switch on the right side of the room and flipped it. Immediately, a red light cast over the room, flashing. As soon as the doors started closing, I couldn't help but notice a blue hedgehog, dashing towards them.
He made it through them with ease, and quickly, I made my way through the doors too, barely making it. The detective didn't make it through, but surely she'd get out of there and help soon.
I quickly followed the mobian, he was fast, but I was catching up with him. Every corner, I was closer and closer until he made it to another section of the museum, and somehow barricaded the doors to that section in the small amount of time I had been turning the corner. I tried to open them, but failed miserably.
I furrowed my brows and shut my eyes in frustration. I let out an angered growl and I opened my eyes looking around for something to maybe help break down the doors, but in turn, I saw a building map. I quickly looked for where he may be headed, and to my luck, there was a way I could catch up to him. I started running.
Soon, I ended up on a balcony that held some artifacts, not many though. Within moments of being in there, the blue thief burst through the pair of doors in front of me. I quickly drew a gun and aimed it at him. He froze like a deer in the presence of headlights.
He put his hands up, "Hey!" He shouted, "Uhh...I- I know you! You're the uh-- that slow guy that was chasing me back there..." He gave an awkward grin and took a slow step back. "Sonic, that's your name, right?" I asked as I stepped closer.
"Yup," he replied with a nod and took steps to the side, rounding the room. I kept the gun on him, still maintaining eye contact. "You're under arrest, put the bag on the ground, slide it over to me with your feet, hands on your head and get down on your knees. Now." The thief tilted his head to the side and winced.
"Well, hold on, I have questions. Three to be exact. So, one, gotta badge on ya? Cuz, ya know, You...could be some sorta pretend cop, trying to get to this precious baby too...Second, Are you hungry? Because I am starving! Third...Are you bilingual?"
I cocked my gun, not knowing what to answer first, and deciding not to answer, considering the questions were stupid and unnecessary for the situation we were in. Sonic's eyes widened slightly and he glanced at the edge of the balcony.
I didn't think he'd have the guts to do it, it was a twenty-foot drop, but it seems I thought wrong. Detective Rose and her squad burst through the doors at that instant, catching me off guard.
This gave him just enough time to jump over the railing of the balcony. I looked back at him just in time to see him behind the railing and falling to the floor below. I ran to the edge of the balcony, looking over to see him with his hands on his back, standing up and wincing.
The blue thief looked up and gave a grin. He then looked at the door to the side and glanced back up at me, slightly, but quickly limping towards it. I started running, again. I pushed past Rose's squad without saying another word.
...I had to catch him. I had to get that emerald...
Heyyyy.....Um...I know this looks like ass right now, but this will turn out, not really ass later on....Maybe....Uhhhh, see ya next week? Later.
