Chapter Two | First Day

                                                ❀

𝐈 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐘 in my seat as I felt Cole's gaze linger on me through the rearview mirror. It was a strange feeling, one that made my stomach churn with unease. I tried to shake off the discomfort as they arrived at school, but the intensity of his stare lingered in my mind.

As the Walter brothers rushed out of the truck, Blair found herself standing alone amidst the bustling chaos of the school entrance. Her heart sank as she remembered that her mom was no longer there to help her navigate through these situations. Pushing aside her thoughts, she put on a brave face and made her way towards her first class.

Thankfully, Danny, the twin brother of Cole, offered to show Blair the way. I followed him through the crowded hallways, trying to take in the layout of the school. It was all overwhelming, and I couldn't help but feel like an outsider.

Finally they reached her classroom, and Blair's eyes scanned the room for an empty seat. That's when she noticed Alex, one of the Walter brothers her age, sitting alone at a desk. Feeling a small spark of familiarity, she approached him and asked if she could sit next to him.

Alex smiled warmly and nodded, offering his book to Blair since she hadn't received one yet. She thanked him, feeling a sense of gratitude for his kindness in this place of unfamiliar faces. As the class began, Blair found solace in the quiet companionship she shared with Alex. They exchanged occasional glances and small smiles, slowly building a connection amidst the chaos of the classroom.

During lunchtime, Cole approached me, catching me off guard. He surprised me by offering to buy lunch and inviting me to sit with him and his friends. It was an unexpected gesture, and I couldn't help but appreciate his kindness, despite the blonde girl he had been making out with this morning glancing me dirty looks.

As Blair settled at the lunch table, she observed the dynamics between Cole and his friends. They bantered and laughed, Blair felt a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty, unsure of where she fit into this group.

Amidst the laughter and conversation, I couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling of Cole's gaze from earlier. It was as if he was watching my every move, and it made me question his intentions.

And so, as my first day of school came to an end, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for me in this town, and how the threads of her relationships with Cole, Alex, and the Walter brothers would intertwine. Only time would tell, as the slow burn of their romance began to flicker, igniting a flame that would forever change their lives.
