"Failed again!? Can you even graduate at this point?" Her dad's voice echoes across the room, disappointed with Anhye's disastrous midterm report card.

The only subject she passed is arts, and even that was just above the minimum. With a lifeless expression, Anhye looks down at the floor, almost crying. She inhales deeply and lets out a sigh, with the atmosphere that is filled with tension. Knowing herself as the lowest-ranking student in her class, Anhye cannot do anything other than accepting her fate.

Yes, this is Park Anhye, the bottom-ranked student in her high school. She may be attractive, but she's completely untalented. She was awful in everything from music, athletics, arts, and academics. Since birth, she cannot understand things like most people. However, Anhye still wants to learn and tries her best to understand, but she just can't. Her heart is filled with envy of many people around her who are born normal and have talents, wishing she also had at least one.

"Hahaha, she's just pretty, but stupid"

"That untalented girl? Oh, we can't be friends with her"

"She's just a useless girl, leave her"

"LOL Did you see her grade? It looks like a joke hahaha!"

Anhye often gets those insults from her classmates. They write it on her notebook, table, and locker. It might be tough and painful for her, but she doesn't seem to show any reactions, since she's already used to it for years. Because of her disability, people are constantly bullying and making fun of her for the sake of entertainment. There is nobody on her side and her parents also constantly verbally abuse her. Anhye feels completely helpless.

All of the pain and suffering makes her question her purpose of existence. Why would Anhye want to live in catastrophe? Isn't it better for her to just die? She's lying on the bed, thinking to herself all night. Negative thoughts fly across her mind, resulting in the purpose of her life concludes to nothing. Anhye sighs in despair, as she takes a deep breath and talks to herself.

"Look at me now, being a humiliation..."

"Hahaha... What am I doing with my life? My parents even regret giving birth to me"
"Should I just end it here? If I'm gone... they would stop humiliating me, right?"

Anhye chuckles lightly. She gets out of bed, then makes her way to the kitchen where she spots a knife. Since her parents are probably asleep by that point, she is free to do what she wants. She selects a little knife—about the size of her palm—from the knife rack. She can't take her eyes off the floor as her thoughts and emotions battle over whether or not to continue living. Her eyes well up with tears as they cascade down to the kitchen floor. She continues to purposely slice her wrist with the knife, causing the cut to open and blood to begin to trickle.

"I hate myself... die... "

She makes more slices to her wrist, causing her wrist to be full of cuts and blood. As tears fall from her eyes, she feels the physical and mental pain inside her body. Her vision is slowly fading, and she falls unconscious on the kitchen floor. The knife falls to the floor, making the sound of the metal clashing against the floor.

Anhye faints.

In the morning, Anhye's mother is surprised to see Anhye lying unconscious on the kitchen floor. She screams loudly, thinking that her daughter had died from suicide. After a few hours in the hospital, Anhye recovers and regains her consciousness. She's quite disappointed that her suicide attempt had failed, wishing that she was dead instead.

"Sigh... why am I still alive?"

Anhye glazes around the room, the room isn't familiar to her and she notices that her wrists are wrapped with bandages. Her fate may not be letting her to end her life. Therefore, Anhye decides to stand and live. The war between her mind and heart has ended since she ends up choosing to live again.
