"What's that?" I peeked at the book that she placed on the table. It reads Supernatural Dimension.

"You drug me here for that? I never knew you would be this obsessed with supernatural stories" I teased her, trying to get rid of the feeling that surged toward me and to lighten up the sudden tension that built up in the air.

"What are you saying?" Avery asked with confusion laced in her voice.

"I'm referring to that book you idiot. With the title of the book, it's obvious that you're fond of reading supernatural or something" Did she hit her head or something?

"What?" I asked as she stopped moving and stared right into my eyes. Those light blue eyes that full of surprise and curiosity.

"Samantha"

"Yeah?"

"The book.. doesn't have any title" What she said made me question myself as to where she hit her head. Did she use a brick or a metal?

"The fuck are you saying?"

"Look..it's just a book with a plain brown cover, no title or author listed," she said with a shocked tone and expression.

I hold the book with my hand and caress it, feeling a sudden electricity run down my arm. It was like a magnet, pulling me towards it. "B-but.. it reads 'Supernatural Dimension' on the cover"

"Samantha, I can't see anything written on it. Well, I guess you are something else" she whispered the last part causing me to not hear it.

"What?"

"Let's deal with that later"

"But—

"Before anything else, I would like to ask you one question. And you promise to be honest with me, are we clear?" She cut me off and whispered, her eyes were frisky as they started roaming around the place, like a little girl who was about to tell a secret to her friend and make sure no one would hear it.

"Yeah sure sure" I responded, eager to know what her question was.

"Samantha Elaine Raxwell" She looked at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes, and I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, anticipating whatever was about to come out of her naughty mouth. But her question caught me off guard.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice tinged with an unusual seriousness.

Confusion washed over me, and I couldn't help but wonder if she was playing some kind of prank. "Did you suddenly have an amnesia?" I replied, trying to brush off the unease creeping up my spine.

Her persistence only deepened my puzzlement. "W-what are you saying?" I stammered, feeling beads of sweat forming on my back and my hands trembling slightly.

"Who are you?" she repeated, her tone insistent.

The room suddenly felt suffocating, as if the walls were closing in on me. Avery's question seemed to pierce through my defenses, stirring up a mix of fear and anxiety. It was as if I was being interrogated in a dimly lit room, with only two chairs and a table between us.

Anger welled up within me, and I had to fight the urge to slap her to make her stop talking. The uncertainty of what might spill from her lips intensified my unease. How could she ask who I was when I had no idea where I came from or who I truly was?

"I'm Samantha, your best friend you dumbass," I said, my voice laced with frustration.

"I know that.. but have you ever felt sudden changes within yourself?"

As she uttered those words, a wave of introspection washed over me. I began to question my own experiences, searching for instances where I had felt a shift in my thoughts, emotions, or even my very essence. Memories flickered through my mind, but they remained elusive, just out of reach.
