Severus woke up and blinked repeatedly to try to get his bearings.

He immediately recognized Rose's room and remembered how he had gotten there. After their passionate encounter in the living room, Rose had taken him to the bedroom. The bed had been more comfortable than the sofa, and not just for sleeping.

He turned to the woman, who was sleeping with her back to him, and hugged her waist, burying his nose in her hair and inhaling her scent. The heat of her naked body reawakened his desire. Even knowing that she needed to sleep, Severus couldn't resist the urge to kiss her neck repeatedly, tickling her.

Rose moaned in protest, waking up, and curled up further, but he repeated the movement, also kissing her neck, shoulder, and back. Finally, Rose turned to him and smiled sleepily.

"Didn't you have enough yesterday?" she asked, still half asleep.

"No," he answered, kissing her on the mouth. Rose let herself be carried away by his kiss and his caresses, until they separated, and he looked at her intently.

Reaching out with his left hand, Severus gently brushed a strand of hair from the woman's face, and she couldn't help but notice the Dark Mark, which stood out against the pale skin. Severus noticed and tried to hide his arm, but Rose grabbed him by the wrist, and in a gesture that surprised the death eater, she kissed the tattooed area, then running her fingers over it.

After this, he looked at Severus with an expression that said, "See? You have nothing to hide from me."

Severus leaned over her and gave her a short kiss on the lips.

"Did you find him?" Rose asked suddenly. "Your father," she clarified, although it was not necessary. Severus fell onto the bed, staring at the ceiling, and Rose sat up, propping herself up on one elbow.

"Yes, I found him," he answered, after a few seconds of silence.

"Do you want to tell me about it?" she asked softly.

Severus did not respond immediately, but instead kept his eyes fixed on the ceiling, staring into space, his mind elsewhere. Rose waited without saying anything, patiently respecting his silence, until he decided to speak.

"I found him," Severus said, speaking slowly. "I had looked for him everywhere..."

***

He had looked for him everywhere. After leaving Hogwarts, after seeing Rose jump off the moving train, and after swearing loyalty to Voldemort, Severus had done nothing but look for his father.

The muggle had done well: after avoiding jail with the payment of a bail that had definitively led to his ruin, Tobias had hidden himself in such a way that he seemed to have vanished.

But his son had not forgotten him.

Although he had to obey Voldemort by chasing and eliminating Aurors, and obtaining information about the Ministry's plans, Severus took advantage of all his trips to collect clues about his father.

In a short time, thanks to his responsible character and his diligence in carrying out Voldemort's orders, Severus was climbing positions within the death eater group, expanding his circle of contacts.

Of course, he also earned envy and enemies among his own companions, but none of those who faced him survived for long. Severus had nothing to lose, and there was nothing he could be blackmailed with, so he soon became feared and respected in Voldemort's immediate circle, although he was not yet one of his favorites.
