" pass me the ball " kyree yelled at me from the other side of the court
i got up from the bleachers, running to the ball before picking it up and throwing it to where he was
" damn she threw a rocket " i heard somebody say
" nah fr where you learn how to throw like that?" some boy came up to me
i shrugged
" come play with us " he said
" i don't know how ta play " i said looking up at him and admiring his features
he was brownskin with locs that reached his shoulder and was just a couple inches taller than me
" ia teach you, come " he walked towards who i guessed were his friends
i followed him seeing kyree and them watching me
" imma teach her how to shoot, keep playing without me" he told his friends before bringing me to another hoop
" damn my bad I ain't even ask for your name " he shook his head
" just call me raii " i put my hands on my hip, leaning on one leg
" aight raii im Marcus " i nodded my head
" ok so when you shoot you gotta open your legs a little and bend down " he told me while demonstrating
i copied what he was doing
" good, now you gotta hold the ball with your hands on the side like this and bring it up kind of above your head like this " he showed me how to hold the ball
he handed me the ball and i put my hands in the same spots he did before putting it above my head
" ok now go up and bring the ball with you and push it forward " he told me watching me. I did what he said watching the ball hit the rim and bounce back
i rolled my eyes
" try bending your legs more " he passed the ball to me
i nodded my head doing what he said while watching the ball roll into the bucket
i screamed quickly covering my mouth
I jumped around before hugging Marcus, quickly pulling away once i realized i was hugging him
" see you did it, now you can play with us " he told me while we walked back over to his friends
" aight we gon play now " he told them
" who team you wanna be on " he asked me
I shrugged looking around at my options. I chose the team that looked the best which was the team opposite of the one he was on
" oh you wanna be with the oppsssss" he dragged looking at me
" yup " i laughed
I stood there was the game started. I went close to the basket hoping that they wouldn't pass me the ball and would just forget i was there.
They didn't and all of a sudden the ball was being thrown at me. I caught it hearing the kids on my team yell at me to shoot it.
I threw the ball towards the square i seen on the backboard watching it go in.
" AND ONE " i heard feeling someone pick me up
i was confused but i let it happen watching them cheer
" you just made the last point " the boy that picked me up told me seeing the confused look on my face
" ohhhh " i smiled, dapping him up
i walked over to Marcus seeing him roll his eyes
" someone's salty " i said making fun of him
" chilll you only made it cause i taught you to shoot. All the credit goes to me fr " he said pushing me back a little
" i guess " i said watching kyree make a free throw
" you come here a lot? " he asked me
i shook my head " no this my first time here "
" oh aight, come again and maybe you'll find me here" he told me
