The history of the Kamikis are interesting. Sekai’s parents were absent for most of his teenage years. His sister had to take care of him. He won championships with the Try Fighters. He built a life-sized version of the Kamiki Try Burning, and it worked. But it did not have the desired effect. The Japanese government directly caused another tragedy. All because Sekai wouldn’t loan them the technology. But was it Sekai’s fault, or do we just regard him as a blind hero? Maybe, that’s up to you. I have no control over what you think Sekai was. Dense? Definitely so. But was he protective of things that he loved? Yes, very much so. He loved Fumina Hoshino, naming the Institute of Art & Technology after her. He honored the people who helped him. His son, Sekai Kamiki Jr., was more hot-headed than him. Harder to control, harder to keep under locks. Harder to stop him from being in tournaments, eating up his competition. He went to the Open World Tournament. He beat all of his competition. Stomped them in the dirt. Over and over and over again. That is why the Institute has Holders. People who are champions and retain their title. Kamiki Jr. retained the title of Holder for 14 years before finally stepping down and giving the role to his sister. She deserved it, and it was a fair battle, but it was believed that Kamiki Jr. lost on purpose. He made himself weaker to let his sister win, or so it was told. “Ms. Kamiki. She’s been the Institute’s Star Holder for quite some time now.” said a reporter. “She has to face Kuriyama Kenji [Sr.] in the next duel for the retention of Holder.” Kuriyama had something up his sleeve. A new weapon. A new Vismo. It was called…
The Vismo Utah.
He had been working on it for months. The design had been made by his best friend Iida. Iida was his right-hand man. But he’d been disqualified from the tournament a long time ago. For no reason that could be explained except for his competition had cheated. People who were watching reported the incident, but the Kamiki’s didn’t like whoever or whatever was associated with the Kenji’s, so he was disqualified, citing “fair game, fair rules.” “Mr. Iida Takayuki is disqualified. His opponent won fairly as he did not break any rules that would qualify both participants in the Open World Tournament.” Many were outraged. Many emailed and sent very hateful messages towards the Kamiki’s.So they disabled the email service for all students until the next year. Many called it unfair, but others were quite contemptuous. It all depended on who you were. The Kamiki’s didn’t want any issue. They just wanted to rule over the people with unlimited power. That’s all they ever needed.

The Kamiki family tree is a tough one. It isn’t very obvious who they’re related to. The Kodas are not related to the Kamiki’s, even though in the past it was highly rumored that the two families were connected by blood. The Takahashis, who helped the Sekai Sr. during the war, are related to the Kamiki’s by family honor. But they are not related by blood. In all sense of the fact, the people who are related to the Kamiki’s are difficult to find. Even I, dear reader, do not know who the Kamiki’s are related to. They don’t talk about their family very much. Even if they do, it’s something very derogatory. But there is one person who took a DNA test. It was Kuriyama Kenji Sr. Known by many as the creator of the “Gotcha and Go” method of battle with his friend Iida Takayuki, Kuriyama took a DNA test, in which he believed that the Kamiki’s were targeting him because apparently he was related to them. He was correct. So correct, in fact, that Kuriyama was banned from the Hoshino Institutes Honor Service. The Vismo Utah was confiscated and kept in a secret war room. Kuriyama eventually built a new machine — the Vismo Idaho. Passed down through generations, it was the Kuriyama that we now know in this relatively long book (the friend of MacKenzie and Ash) where we can see the Idaho in full action. It is in which this story starts to spiral out of control. You see, the DNA test lied. It said “third cousin.” No, Kuriyama isn’t the third cousin of Sekai Kamiki Jr., he’s in fact, the brother. Sekai Kamiki Sr. had cheated on Fumina, but no one knew this. Instead, this was kept a secret. You can clearly see why Sekai Kamiki Sr. did not want Kuriyama Kenji anywhere near his family. He was scared. Scared of the truth. Kuriyama Kenji the Twenty-Seventh is not a distant cousin of the Kamiki’s… he’s the nephew.
