Cierra- Rooftop Dreamer (sad)

Cierra sighed deeply, looking out at the imperfect crescent moon, much like ones she'd absentmindedly make on her palms with her nails when she clenched her hands into fists. She knew sitting on the rooftop was dangerous, but at that time, it didn't matter to her. Nothing mattered to her anymore.

She plastered on a smile day by day, and everyone bought it. Nobody suspected a thing as she managed to get better at fake smiling. She tried staying happy for the fans, for her family, but it ended up being fake.

Her family.

Her perfect, happy-go-lucky family who loved her dearly. They didn't realise that the elder sister was unhappy. Though, to their defence, nobody did. Nobody could see her grow unhappier and unhappier, breaking apart day after day.

She always waited for everyone to fall asleep before crying. She always kept the smile up. That was the toughest part, to her. Pretending to be happy was harder than what was making her unhappy in the first place.

So she sat on the roof every night, watching cars go by and counting stars to distract herself. Sometimes she would smile, sometimes she would cry and sometimes she would just sit, observing the world and daydreaming. And from this, she noticed lots of things.

She noticed that one of her neighbours was an insomniac, lamp always on until the early hours of morning. She noticed that exactly three people went for a nightly jog past their house regularly. She noticed that Mr Stuart was cheating on his wife with another woman.

She never said anything, though. She was never one to tell another man's secret. She kept to herself.

And because of that, she was miserable.

She so badly wanted someone to talk to about how she felt, someone who would lend her a houlder to lean against and cry on. She couldn't go to her siblings. As much as she loved them, they were the reason she was unhappy. They didn't know that, of course. She just was.

She hated herself for not being enough. She hated that Jordan and Bethany were everyone's favourites, her and Isaac tossed aside like dirty rags. She tried to be liked, tried using characters more in their videos, but they always preferred Jordan and Bethany.

Was she not funny and entertaining enough? Or was it that she wasn't pretty? She tried her best to look presentable and to be as bubbly as possible in videos. Just the mask she puts on itself caused her misery and unhappiness, only to have the negative reponse to it added on to the pile.

Every night on the roof, she'd pray for a shooting star to come along so she could make a wish. She'd even wish on every single star in the sky, though they were stationery, turning to luck because her prayers weren't working. She wished with all her heart on each star, hoping her wish would be granted. Not just for her sake, for the channel's sake too.

'I wish to be happy.'

That wish never came true.
