What you said confirmed itself after not even two blows. The dragon was in terrible pain. His roar ringing in your ears, Dvalin couldn't take the damage anymore and retreated.

-"Excellent work! Well, I see that my presence is no longer required. So, that's it for today folks! I'll be taking my leave now."

Grinning in excitement, you couldn't wait to finally meet this mysterious person.

-"Thank you!! Wait, don't leave! Who are you?" The pitched voice asked.

-"Tsk, I should be the one asking you that..Who are you or rather, who is that fearless companion of yours? Hmm~ Anyway, Toodles!"

-"Wait-"

You opened your eyes again, a satisfied smirk dancing on your lips.

"You're back.." Jiangxi stated with a hint of curiosity. You heard his concern for you and instantly regretted using such an unpleasant tone with him. "And? What do they look like? This person you were talking about."

"I don't know. But we'll see that for ourselves in a moment. They have a child accompanying them. That's the only voice I heard- Right, and before I forget. Barbatos was there." You couldn't help but smile at the mention of his name. "I didn't think I'd hear about him this soon."

And by 'soon' you meant after 500 years of no contact.

"Tch..." Was all you heard from the god's mouth. Rather unhappy.

"That's amazing.." he said in a halfhearted tone. Barbatos was the one person he did not want to see right now, or ever actually. But if it wasn't for your friendship with the god of the winds, he would've taken care of him a long time ago.

He just couldn't stand his presence. Always so taunting and testing his patience, both of them never got along well.

"Don't be a dickhead now, Ji..." You cooed at him. "It's been half a century after all, plus I thought you weren't one to hold grudges against people like that? It's not like you have an actual reason to despise him that much."

This only earned you a sigh accompanied by the pitching of his nose bridge. "Y/N, you know how he is...such a nuisance." He growled under his breath.

Laughing at how frustrated he became at the mention of Barbatos, you could only shake your head.

"Seriously Jiangxi, both of you are grown ass men, no, peepaws actually. This isn't the behavior of a god. Acting like a toddler."

That definitely hit a nerve.

"That's it, I've had it with you! Me? A toddler? And let's not start age shaming people here. How old are you again?" He let out sarcastic laugh. "Besides, he's the one that starts it all the time!" He hissed in incomprehension, like a kid that just got accused of something it didn't do.

Just like you said. Kindergarten behavior.

Before the two of you could continue any further with your bickering, a dark brown haired girl with orange golden orbs came running your way. 'That stalker?' Was all you remembered of her.
