You had taken note of his reaction and tried to excuse this sudden announcement.

"From now on you shouldn't care about my next moves. I really feel like traveling again and I believe that starting off in this nation is the right thing to do. Jiangxi, I-"

"You're nervous, Y/N" he cut you off. Jiangxi was quick to interrupt your rambling before you could try and justify yourself any further.

He had decided to stay with you long ago, completely dismissing the thought of leaving. Especially with all the things he had written about you, literally no one knew you as well as he did. It had its advantages... but also its inconveniences.

In a corner of his consciousness he could only think of that question that mysterious man had asked him, long time ago.

'What does freedom really mean when demanded of you by a god?'

The fact that you had managed to make him, 'Jiangxi, god of calamities and misfortune', feel so weak and unconsciously submissive for you pissed him off. It actually disgusted him. What the hell was wrong with him? Alas, in your presence his actions always ended up contradicting his thoughts. And he had gotten used to it.

"I'll stay."

Raising your eyebrows at him, you...felt surprised? He got the chance to leave yet didn't grasp it? Jiangxi had done so much  for your sake and you were extremely thankful too. Both of you had started on rocky beginnings yet grew to get used to each other. But for him to still choose his loyalty for you rather than his freedom? Quite unexpected indeed.

Seeing your bewildered expression, Jiangxi's eyes smiled at you. "Listen, I have my own reasons for this choice. I believe that there are still many things to be written about you. Especially with what you just told me, you knew I wouldn't drop you like that. It's like a new series of events in history and I'll be the one to keep them within our grasp. Like I've always done."

Your face held a soft beam, thinking about how you hated when he was right. He caught you. You didn't feel like saying anything regarding that topic. Leaning towards the table you spoke in an almost too suggestive tone.

"Sooo...now that you're technically free...does that mean I'll finally get to read those precious notes you hide away from me?" You hoped for a yes but knowing him, you had already lost this negotiation.

"Y/N, you know what we agreed on..." it earned him a frown, though his answer was to be expected. "Aw, come on now...be nice for once, Ji~" you pleaded, almost blubbering.

Jiangxi had spent hundreds of thousands of evenings scripting down your journey and due to your agreement, he kept those treasured paper sheets sealed away.

You weren't from this world, so Irmensul did not posses any records about your descending on Teyvat.

It had been 4000 years eve since you had made your appearance in Teyvat. But it was only 2000 years ago that you had found someone to keep a trace of your path in this world. You had come to terms with not being able to access your own data. It was one of Jiangxi's conditions you had accepted.

Where he kept those documents sealed? You had no idea. Your complaints only made the god cackle. "Is that the actual reason you 'technically' freed me? You can't be serious, Y/N" You weren't happy at all.
