THE TENT WAS PEACEFUL WHEN THE YOUNG PRINCESS barged in front of her father with her handmaiden behind her. "Is that what I am to you?" The young princess's voice told her father, "A prize to proffer about to the great houses."
"You're of age, Rhaenyra. And Jason Lannister is an excellent match." Viserys replied
"He's arrogant and self-serious" Rhaenyra whispered yelled to him as Vanya moved her hands behind her back smiling as she silently watched her friend
"Well, I thought you might have that in common. Since you came of age, I've been slowly drowning in a lake of parchment flung from every corner of the realm. Marriage proposals, all. And I have tried often to discuss it with you, but you've refused me at every turn" Viserys tells Rhaenyra silently raising his voice, which causes people to begin to look
"That is because I do not wish to get married" Rhaenyra yelled at him as Vanya wished to step in in order to tell the father and daughter of the tone of their voice
"Even i do not exsist between tradition and duty, Rhaenyra!" Viserys yelled in his duaghters face losing alll the enegrgy he had in him. "Excuse me your Grace" Vanya called out to the king
Viserys looked up to see all of the lord and Lady in the tent staring at them "You must marry" Viserys insisted as he walked away with Otto Hightower
Vanya walked up to the princess side as she saw Rhaenyra with water in her eyes, threatening to spill. Vanya placed a hand on her shoulder but the Princess only swatted the hand away and stormed out of the tent
Vanya didn't run after her as she took a few deep breaths to calm herself before returning back to the other hand maidens in the tent. Around that time is when Alicent walked up to her
"My Lady, Would you take Aegon while I talk to Lady Lannister" Alicent asked with baby aegon in hand and a hand over her pregnant belly
Vanya smiled widely at her "Of course your grace" Vanya told her as Alicent smiled and handed The prince slowly over the Vanya who carefully took him like he was the most precious thing in the world
"You can take him down for bed if you would like his room in back there " Alicent pointed before Talya, Alicent's hand maiden walked up and helped Alicent get comfortable back on the chair as Lady Lannister approched
"Ofcourse your grace" Vanya said as she pulled Aegon close as Aegon's head rested on Vanya's neck as she walked to the prince's room where there was a small crib for the prince
"You my prince are very lucky" Vanya said as she twirled the boy around making him giggle as he repeated the word "Again" to her Vanya complied spinning around with the baby boy in hand with his soft giggle echoing through the room
She finally placed the boy down in the crib but he griped the blue dress she had on as he huffed not wanting to leave the young Lady's arms. "Your mother will come to you shortly my prince" Vanya told him as she put his small hand down and kissed his head
He held out his hand with a smile she couldn't resist and took him in her arms as she rocked the boy to sleep while she sang on old Lysene song her mother used to sing for her. The prince was asleep when the Queen walked in
"Thank you My lady nobody ever manged to make him sleep that quickly," Alicent said as she entered the room "Its a pleasure my lady your son has truly been a sweet boy" Vanya said as she put the sleeping boy down in his crib
Vanya moved over to help the Queen sit down as she smiled at her, "How is Rhaenyra" Alicent asked about her old friend just as Vanya placed a pillow behind her
"She is well but not happy about his grace and his plan for marriage," Vanya said as the Queen patted a place next to her
"I'm glad the King chose you for her," Alicent said as Vanya smiled down at the Queen. The queen then stood up "Vanya could you please help me undress" Alicent asked Vanya nodded as she helped Alicent out of her long red dress and helped the young Queen in a bath that was drawn for her
Vanya then sat next to her in the bath to help remove her hair from the hairnet and braids it was in as the young Queen soaked into the hot bath.
