After ironing out some of the logistical problems she faced with her new job, she'd finally been able to see to the errands she'd needed to run. By then, it had been late afternoon, and she'd had to skip going to the post office. At least by the time she'd gotten home, the contractors were done for the day and her headache wouldn't get any worse than it already was. Maybe she would make a sandwich and then head to bed early for once. The phone, though, had other ideas as its shrill ringing loudly echoed throughout the house.

Lisa shook her head, already knowing who would be calling her. "Hello?"

"Hey Lisa!" Rosé chirped happily through the phone.

"Calling to check up on me?" Lisa teased lightly.

"What? No! I'd never...," she trailed off and then sighed loudly. "I just worry about you being there all by yourself.

"I'm fine, Rosé," Lisa reassured her sister. "Besides, this is not L.A. What bad could possibly happen here?"

Rosé laughed at her sister. "I know, I know...well, actually, isn't it usually the case that small towns aren't as innocent as they seem?"

"Rosé!" she chastised her with a chuckle. Sometimes her imagination seemed to work in complete overdrive.

"You're sure you're fine?" Rosé repeated, her worry betraying the fact that her sister was quite capable of taking care of herself.

"Yes, everything's great. Well, other than all the noise waking me up in the morning," Lisa groused, still annoyed over her early morning wake-up.

"Noise? What noise?" Rosé jumped in, instantly concerned that something was wrong, and that Lisa was just protecting her.

"Oh, just the renovators. They started on the upstairs this morning," Lisa explained to her while walking toward her office.

"Oh, yeah, right! I forgot about them," Rosé laughed at her earlier jump to conclusions.

Lisa spent another hour on the phone with her sister. Rosé insisted that she tell her everything that had occurred since their last conversation almost a week earlier. So, she told her about the progress on the house renovations and her adjustments to her new job. Her wonderful, but always worrying, sister still didn't understand why she had left her old job. So, for what she thought was probably the hundredth time, Lisa explained it to her again.

A half hour after getting off the phone with her sister, Lisa was standing in her newly renovated office with a perplexed look on her face. She had searched the entire room for her Day Planner, but the damn thing seemed to have disappeared. Of course, she could always use the shiny, new iPad her sister had bought for her birthday, but honestly, the thing freaked her out more than just a little. She preferred using good old paper and pencil. Maybe it was still in one of the boxes that had gotten stored in the attic during the move and renovation. With a shrug, Lisa got out of her chair and walked towards the mahogany staircase in the center of the house that led to the second and third floors.

Ascending the two flights of stairs, he reached the attic. Actually, it wasn't really an attic. It was more like another floor, entirely liveable if fixed up properly. But since she had no need for more bedrooms, the space would just be used for storage. Lisa shook her head and chuckled at herself when she saw a box sitting near the top of the stairs labeled 'Office.' She must have forgotten to bring it down after the workers had finished on her office.

Lisa sorted through the box for a few moments before triumphantly pulling out her missing planner. She set the little book aside and began putting the other items back in the box. Once everything was packaged again, she stood and began to walk towards the stairs when the window on the far side of the room caught her eye. Her brow furrowed as she tried to remember if that was the one that was really a door that opened to a small balcony. She thought so, but she wasn't sure.
