 Chapter One

Ryan Walker

“I do not care about his mate. Kill that felonious werewolf.” I snarled at Zachary. He looked at me with those calculating eyes, and I didn’t like the silent disrespect he was radiating towards me. I glared at him. This seemed to snap him out of it, as he bowed his head down, and muttered, “As you wish, Alpha.” He then walked away from me, and out of the room. I followed him out, sick of this empty, soundless place.

It was silent for a while, only my footsteps were the sounds I heard. But not after a minute, my ears twitched at the words I caught. “No! Please don’t kill him! I’m not going to survive without him! I’m—I’m pregnant with his child!” I heard a woman’s screech from the vault, the prison cell, or whatever you call it, under this building. I kept walking, pretending I didn’t hear her cries. Her mate did a wrong thing: he insulted his alpha in front of his peers by talking shit about me. He knew better than that. And he deserved his punishment.

The building we were in at the moment was sort of like a warehouse. This was the place where we, store our captives. These people were either rogues, werewolves roaming around territories, causing disruptions in societal peace, or criminals who were lurking silently in packs.

Now, normally, I wouldn’t be here for every single detail. I left this place in charge of one my betas, Zachary Peterson. He was a strong beta, and he was capable of doing a lot of things at the same time. And I trusted him enough to deal with problems.

But today, I have settled here, something in my gut was telling me to do so. I made my way down the cells—underground, and I glared at how dark it was. Zach, you need to do some work here, buddy.

Continuing my steps, I reached a steel door: it had a lock that looked too heavy to be carried by one person. It was a steel lock that blocked the entrance. I smirked, and with one hand, turned the lock to the side of the door. I would admit that it was heavy, but my strength could be able to handle it. Oh, the perks of being the world’s most powerful alpha.

Inside the room, voices were murmuring, and there were cries. Making a step in, the people inside sensed my commanding aura, and the environs hushed around me.

“Alpha! Please, help me! I have done nothing wrong! My child is waiting for me to go home, I swear—“

“Alpha! Alpha! Help me!”

“I am very sorry Alpha! I won’t do it again!”

A lot of voices were getting louder and louder by each second, and I was honestly disturbed and disgusted with the people in here.

They were here not for no reason. They were here because of their actions. And even though I may not know each single one, I do know that my fighters were doing their jobs correctly. And therefore, I trust their judgment with these people.

I looked around the cells, and hands were making their way towards me. I glared at their dirty hands, and continued to look at each and every one of their pathetic faces. There were women here, and I was disappointed in that fact. I hate giving punishments to women, for they were weaker than men. But if they give me a reason to, it cannot be helped.

“Alpha Walker, what are you doing down here?”

Zach’s voice boomed behind me, and I turned around to face him. “Which one in here was the one you told me about, the one whose mate was kneeling in front of you?” I asked, masking my tone with nothing, speaking as emotionlessly as I could.
