IX. The light-bulb

There lacked power within me, enough to grant me freedom.

Technicians at fault, so I called out to one.

The supreme executive, that brought the best switch.

The perfect switch, to turn on the bulb.

Fully powered, I cherished the light,

The switch had no flaws, the light-bulb with unlimited power.

No flickers, so single flash.

Unblown fuse, the longest-serving bulb.

Alas, I saw everything, the good, the bad,

All I was once blind to, they came to being,

Until that day, the executive challenged me.

He turned it off, obstacles before me.

The bulb may be off, but my power stays.

I thank the technician, the supreme advocate,

For the gesture, I understand,

To lighting, an eternal bulb.
