NARRATOR: Captain Beakman hoped that would comfort him. Pip usually wore his heart on his cheek, so she'd never seen him so upset.
((Pip then gets up out of the chair and walks away in a trance. Then, without warning, he took off, ignoring the stares. He ran outside, scampered into the most secluded spot he could find, and cried.))
NARRATOR: It wasn't fair. How could Hunter do all this to him? What had he done wrong?
((Hunter, meanwhile, was working on Freddy while both of them were out on a delivery.))
HUNTER: I heard it with my own ears, (assured the slack-jawed flamingo) Pip truly believes that.
NARRATOR: Freddy however, couldn't believe that. How could Pip, his best pal, think he was stupid, and unfit for the role of a flier? Hunter let Freddy think that over, and went to go find KC and Krysia. But for some strange reason, he couldn't find Krysia... That day, Freddy and KC kept their distance from Pip. Hunter told Pip it was because of his being unfit for the role of a flier.
NARRATOR: Pip went to bed that night with Hunter's words swirling in his head. 'Fat, scared, baby, useless...'
PIP: (turned over to face Freddy from his bed) Freddy?
((Freddy ignored him.))
PIP: Freddy, I need to talk.
FREDDY: (sat up) About what? Look, just because Captain Beakman took you off the team, doesn't mean you have to take it out on me. (rolled back over in a huff)
((Pip sat in bed for a while, before wandering outside, and back to his secret place amongst the bushes.))
NARRATOR: Hunter had brainwashed Freddy somehow. He was trying to ruin Pip's life.
((Hunter suddenly appeared beside Pip.))
HUNTER: I told you. You're just a penguin. A worthless, useless, burden.
PIP: (stood up) Stop bullying me, Hunter. Now.
HUNTER: (blinked, looking unimpressed) Do you think you can talk back to me?
((With one swift movement, he swiped his talons across Pip's cheek. He pushed him to the ground, and held him there, but he didn't know that Krysia was watching from afar.))
HUNTER: I want you to remember this moment any time you think you or any other penguin can be anything more than a useless ice-bird!
((After Hunter was done with Pip, he was gonna fly away and head back inside when Krysia showed up when Hunter was still holding onto Pip. Pip tried to get the talons off of him, but he couldn't.))
KRYSIA: Hey! Let him go!
((Krysia runs over to Hunter who's holding onto Pip and she grabs Hunter's talons, forcing him to let go of Pip. Pip got up and went back over to the bushes he was originally hiding in.))
KRYSIA: (says everything she's been wanting to say directly in hunter's face) Hunter, stop spreading lies about Pip and Freddy! They didn't do anything wrong! You're making everyone believe that those lies that you are saying to everyone about them are true but I know that those lies are not! And you need to stop bullying Pip! He would never hurt his best friend on purpose! You're just making Pip and Freddy not be friends! You need to stop, Hunter!
((Hunter didn't even care what Krysia had said to him. He left them and went back inside. Once Hunter left Pip and Krysia outside, Pip was in tears. Krysia immediately noticed and went over to Pip, helped him off the ground, and made him sit next to her.))
NARRATOR: Pip didn't make eye contact with Krysia and just stared at the stars, finding at least a little comfort in them. How could this be happening? With a few lies, Hunter had convinced Captain Beakman that he was unfit to be a flier due to his species. He'd lose his job, and no other penguin would be hired. And Freddy, Freddy was no longer his friend. Why was Hunter telling all these lies?
KRYSIA: Pip? You okay?
((Pip opened his eyes, to find himself fast asleep on the grass. Krysia was sitting right next to him, looking very worried, confusion clear on her face.))
PIP: Hi, Krysia. (mumbled, not in the mood)
KRYSIA: Do you... want to talk?
PIP: I...I...I don't know.
NARRATOR: In the long shot, this wasn't exactly a lie. Krysia could tell there was something really wrong with her first ever penguin friend.
KRYSIA: (puts an arm around his shoulders) What's wrong?
NARRATOR: Pip found talking to Krysia was surprisingly easy. After all, she just saved him.
PIP: It's Hunter. He...I don't know why... (started to sob)
((Krysia grabs a blanket out of her bag that she remembered that she has with her and wrapped it around both of them.))
NARRATOR: Pip settled in the warm embrace. It was like something really big and warm, keeping him safe and sound, and wanting to be with him.
PIP: He told Captain Beakman I shouldn't be here...because I'm a penguin. He says I'm scared of everything...He calls me fat...He told lies about me to Freddy...
((The entire rest of the Pip's story came pouring out between sniffles and sobs. Krysia comforts him as he talks.))
NARRATOR: Krysia felt so bad. She felt sympathy but mixed with some other feeling, not fear, she wasn't scared of anything really, but anger, swelling up into courage. She was going to give that hawk a piece of her mind. And tell Hunter directly in his face that he didn't belong there at T.O.T.S and other stuff that she has in her mind that need to be said.
KRYSIA: Don't worry, Pip. We're going to make sure that hawk never does anything to you again! (wanting to stand up but couldn't because pip felt so safe being in the blanket with her)
PIP: (looked at krysia, confused) How?! I can't speak to Hunter myself without him saying more nasty words to me and making me feel even more useless!
((Once Pip said that, even more tears came strolling down his cheeks. Krysia wiped them.))
KRYSIA: In three steps. One, getting you and Freddy back together. Two, telling our friends that those lies that Hunter is spreading are absolutely not true. And three, we have to make Hunter get fired so we never have to deal with him again. Does that sound good? (looks at pip with hope in her eyes)
NARRATOR: Pip didn't know what to say. He felt happy that he has a good friend like Krysia. All he felt was just a lot of sadness right now to even think of anything positive. But Krysia does have a point. She wants him and Freddy to be together again, wants everyone to know that what Hunter is saying about him and Freddy aren't true, and she also wants Hunter to be fired so they don't have to deal with him anymore. But he had to say something. No matter what he was feeling.
PIP: When are we going to get started?
KRYSIA: Well, it's late so probably sometime tomorrow at least? Just so we can get sleep.
PIP: (chuckles after what felt like forever) That sounds like a good plan to me.
((Pip and Krysia got up off the ground and went back inside T.O.T.S to go to bed.))
NARRATOR: Good old Krysia. What a nice friend to do something like this all for him! She really cares about him! Pip was still feeling so horrible about what happened and everything since it was stuck in his head. Krysia has such a big heart. Perhaps that was something Pip liked about her. And perhaps that Pip may possibly have a crush on Krysia. Maybe he does.
(((Spoiler Alert: Pip does have a crush on Krysia. And confesses his feelings to her like 9 months later. Also, yes, I did re-write this scene as well as Scene 1 & 2. Why did I re-write? Because I felt like it. Enjoy reading the rest of the scenes!)))
