NARRATOR: Pip had nightmares. Nightmares of being trapped in a dark place, voices all around him. Mean voices, but also blurry, and he couldn't tell what they were saying.

VOICES/FREDDY: Pip?

NARRATOR: The darkness seemed to swirl, closing in, growing out, as if it were breathing.

VOICES/FREDDY: Pip?

NARRATOR: Pip was frozen to the spot, seeing strange shapes floating in the darkness.

FREDDY: Pip, wake up!

NARRATOR: Pip suddenly found the darkness fading into a familiar darkness.

((Pip opened his eyes. Freddy was leaning over him, looking concerned.))

PIP: (mumbled, still half asleep) Whassamatter?

FREDDY: It's time for breakfast, Pip. (brows furrowed) Are you okay?

PIP: Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bad dream.

NARRATOR: Pip brushed it off. He still felt...weird, but he'd get over it. Just a bad dream...

((After breakfast, they started towards the nursery, when Bodhi came rushing up.))

BODHI: Freddy! Captain Beakman wants to see you!

((Pip and Freddy shared a look, before Freddy walked off. Pip continued his way to the nursery))

NARRATOR: Pip began thinking, full of wonder. Has Freddy done something wrong?

((When Pip got there to the nursery, KC busily bathing a pair of zebra's, and a giraffe. Krysia reading a book to a few babies to get them tired for their nap.

NARRATOR: Things were really busy during spring, and KC had a lot of babies to take care of. With Krysia's help.

((Hunter was sat perched on a windowsill, staring out into the clouds.))

HUNTER: (glances down at pip) Hello, Pip.

NARRATOR: Pip didn't like the malice in his voice. He felt his stomach turn.

((Pip walked over, waved a flipper, and greeted Hunter anyway.))

HUNTER: A word?

((Pip nodded, and let Hunter escort him out of the nursery. KC and Krysia didn't notice, both busy taking care of the baby animals and getting them prepared and out for their forever families. Once in the hall, Hunter's face turned slightly mean.))

HUNTER: Why would a penguin be here? I just don't get it.

PIP: (shrugged) Well, I wanted to help with the babies, and Freddy wanted to help... I guess we both just wanted to work here, and we both worked hard to get the job.

NARRATOR: Pip wasn't exaggerating. Endless hours upon hours of work and practice had gone into it, and paid off.

HUNTER: (thinks about what pip said for a few seconds) It's just a slight surprise, seeing a penguin out of Iceberg Alley. I never thought I'd see a penguin before.

PIP: (chuckled) Yeah. Usually, we penguins stay in Iceberg Alley, and keep to ourselves. Me, I didn't want to live on an ice block all my life. I wanted to do something different.

HUNTER: Sad.

PIP: (frowned) Huh?

HUNTER: I said it's sad. (started circling pip slyly) That a penguin can only work outside of Iceberg Alley with the help of others.
