World Trigger || Various! x Reader

*~Chapter 4~*

Rin who had just recieved a report about Kitora's capture and ability of the purple Rabit, didn't even have time to tell her Captain before everything went wrong. Her hands shaking as they hovered over her computer water slowly built up in the corners of her eyes as she saw the vitals of her Captain disappear off her screen. 

"W-what happened!? Guys! Hello?" Rin exclaimed.

Snapping out of their innitial shock the twins lept into action and took down the purple Rabit ripping open it's torso with a storm of bullets, and grabbing the cube that was or is their Captain before grabbing Akari and running away.

They came to a hault when they were far enough away and both looked down at the cube resting in Haruto's hands. Akari stared at it horror seemingly cemented on her face.

"my fault..." she mumbles, the twins look at her "it's all my fault... the Captains gone... because of me" Tears begin to form in the corners of her eyes and begin to fall like waterfalls down her face as she cries.

Haruto and Hiroto both don't know how to react or what to say as they both felt like it was also their fault for not being more aware. With no captain they felt empty, like life had no meaning to them just like how it used to be before the Captain saved them.

Rin sucked in a breathe and connected herself to the line at HQ to deliever the news...

Shinoda was watching the moniter in front of him when Rin quietly spoke up on the HQ line "Captain Shinoda this is Rin Higuchi the operator of squad A-09..."

Confused about why it's the squads operator on the line not their Captain Shinoda responds "Yes I'm here, what's your report and why is Captain (L/N) not giving it"

There is a breif moment of silence that catches the attention of everyone in HQ's attention.

"Report: C-captain (L/N) of s-squad A-09... has been... captured by the enemy" she stutters out voice cracking as her eyes fill with tears.

Not just Shinoda but also Kido and everyone else in the room pause, eyes widened. For a moment no one knew how to react... or what to say.

Taking a long and deep breath in Shinoda replies "Thank you for your report Ms Higuchi, but what is your Squad doing now?"

"We successfully retreaved the Captain from enemy hands but as of right now the others are in a state of shock, none of them are in any condition to fight Sir" Rin comments.

"I see... Comander Kido, what do we do?" Shinoda turns to the Commander.

"Higuchi, tell the remainer of Squad A-09 to continue fighting the Trion soldiers and Shinoda patch us through to the other squads, to report this information to them" Comander Kido orders.

"Yes Sir" Rin hesitantly replies.

Two clicks are heard one to indicate Rin leaving the call and the other meaning HQ connected to the open line that overpowers every other.

Shinoda speaks up to give the report "All squads report from HQ Captain (L/N) of Squad A-09 has been captured by the enemy"

Around the battle field many squads came to a hault and stood in shock and disbelief. Anyone that knew her properly knew how formidable not only her but her team are. Thoughts swirling in their mind about what could've happened. However, there was one mass collective thought many had was about how would her squad react considering their personalities. 

But their shock couldn't last long as there were more important things to be doing... like dealing with the humaniod neighbours that have just appeared.

Back with the (L/N) Squad, Rin relaid the orders she was given by Commander Kido, however...

"You guys understand what that'll mean for us right, going against the Comander's orders won't be treated lightly" Rin says.

Akari had stopped crying and was filled with determination "we just gotta get her back to base and they'll change her back, we understand the price, however we will get her back no matter the cost"

"We will save the Captain just like she saved all of us" Hiroto said.

"and if anyone gets in our way, we'll kill them" Haruto continues, placing the cube that is their Captain inside a small bag.

Rin gives a small smile and nods her head "bring our Captain home"

A/N: damn after rereading this chapter idk how I feel about the direction I've written it going but oh well, also after the next chapter I'm thinking about writting the backstories for the lovely (L/N) squad. Also I've reread the previous chapters and realised how rushed and unorganised I started this book, I don't have plans to rewrite it but it's definetly something I'm going to keep in mind for the next time I write a fanfic.

Random note: I graduated a month ago which is why I've picked this book up again, I had nothing to do and started watching World Trigger which reminded me about this book lol
